A farmer was showing us the soybeans he planted. The agricultural productivity in Tanzania is extremely low due to the lack of irrigation systems and poor technology. The rural population has very limited food options.

you prepare to enter the city. This was taken on a partly overcast day I wanted the light and dark side of the wall to really show the difference from one side to the other. I wanted to feel like you were there so I took this a a 50mm.

Arnold (left) consents a mother for a survey exploring the burden of sickle cell disease in the Homa Bay community. They laugh and smile as they recount funny experiences of being a parent. These surveys are critical to understand caregiver needs and then use that information to develop contextually-relevant interventions.
