Yesterday (friday oct. 16th) the yearbook and newspaper clubs took a field trip to Syracuse University for something called an ESSPA conference. what that stands for, I don't know. but it was basically a bunch of journalist nerds going to seminars about layout, writing, photography, etc. I went to a photoshop seminar, a "what makes a good photo" seminar, and i participated in an on campus photo shoot out.
The theme was to capture the character of Syracuse University. We were alowed to enter up to 6 photos. I didnt win anything, not even honorable mention. But i dont care, i like my results so thats all that matters

Dunrobin Castle is a stately home in Sutherland, in the Highland area of Scotland. It is the family seat of the Earl of Sutherland and the Clan Sutherland.

This is my aunt's house in Wilton, Connecticut. What an interesting fusion of old and new. The transition from asphalt to door is well conceived, but the standing water is troublesome.
The entry court establishes the courtyard around which the house is oriented. As one arrives, the anticipation of the views from the inside of the house grows.
