Anyway, this entry is being sent in on behalf of my amazing photographer
mam, Marie Boland. It was taken through the window of her jeep over the xmas
holiers (I was in the driving seat bombing along the lovely country roads of
meath while she was snapping away beside me). We sent in 4 because we
couldn't decide!

This is what you'd see walking straight in the front door from outside. The half wall divides the living room from the kitchen.

The stretchiness of the horse, the intense patterning of the palm branches and the clothes being spread out on the ground, the sense of expectation and movement; this is a masterpiece.
Church of Vic, Indre. 12c mural paintings cover most of the nave and all of the choir of this small parish church. I've driven past it a good dozen times on visits to Saint-Chartier and Chateau d'Ars; this year I finally decided to stop.
I'm guessing, but there seem to me to be two painters involved; the paintings in the choir seem livelier and more dramatic, with more expression of movement, than the rather more stolid figures in the nave. This is work of a very high order indeed.
