I don't know when exactly this was taken, but the sideburns give a pretty good indication.

Us civil engineers seem to have slipped a few notches from the good ole days. Maybe we can get ourselves into a few parades again ... ya know, return to the glory days. LOL

My wife surfs ebay for all sorts of things, and she's constantly trying to find engineer or civil engineer memorabilia. Seems that sort of thing is rarer than hen's teeth. But she surely hit the jackpot with this one.

What's funny is this print is only 2.5" X 1.5". Tiny. I scanned this in at 1200 dpi, and it was still only 5mb.

Several students from Ramsay High School learned how to power light bulbs and build model houses at the Southside Branch Library thanks to Teens Engineer BHM, a program offered by the Birmingham Public Library in partnership with the UAB School of Engineering. The afterschool engineering program is offered weekly at the Central, Woodlawn, and Southside Libraries. It was expanded after receiving a $50,000 grant in 2016 from the UAB Benevolent Fund.

It was nice and cloudy yesterday, took Heliot out for some photos. He is wearing the Volks SD17 Steampunk set from the Kyoto 9 Dolpa. The colors and textures of the outfit are beautiful.

26th July 2012 Royal Engineer bubbling away being made ready for the first train of the day.

Haven't had a chance to edit this one yet.

I shot these last year at the Orange Empire Railway Museum. I decided to post them today in memory of Walt Shelton. Who was one of my contacts who passed away on the 14th of February. He was a railfan and that's how I got to know him. Some of his photos were from the same place. Sorry to here about his passing, we were from the same town and I hardly got to know you.

My father, front row second from right, was with the outfit in the Phillipine Island during WWII. They were scheduled to be some of the first to land in Japan if the war had went much longer. They had been on the islands of Lyete, Mindoro, and others I can not remember. This picture and info was sent to me by Jack Swafford of Arizonia a couple of years ago. The Phillips in the middle row was from Iowa and came to see my Dad in the mid '50's. I remember my Dad talking about Griggs, but none of the others. I sure he did but my memory has lost them.

My uncle pretending to be an engineer with his motorcycle helmet. :-)

Section of the panoramic photo I found in my grandfather's old belongings. The bottom says "Recruit Battalion 5th Engineers Camp A.A. Humphreys VA August 1st, 1918. Tr. Regiment". My grandfather wasn't old enough to be one of the probably thousand individuals in the photo (which is about 9 inches in height, 54 inches in length). The front mark in the corner says "Clements, Wash. DC". Don't know a lot of the history but dried it out and had it archivally framed. It had been rolled in the damp basement for probably many years so it's in decent condition for what it went through.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District held its annual Corps Day event on June 22, 2012 at J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill, Ga. Corps Day is held every year in honor of the U.S. Army birthday (June 14), which is also the same birthday as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This year is the Army’s 237th birthday. Corps Day activities included an awards ceremony, the Army Engineer Regimental Muster, and family activities and games. This year, the Savannah District combined Corps Day with its annual Diversity Day celebration—showcasing cultural exhibits, Polynesian dances and Native American presentations. USACE Photo.
