James, the Second Engineer of PS Waverley. This is why the white shirt stays white...looks like James spends his time looking after his Chief and the engines!! I was lucky to have a few hours shooting interior shots on Waverley and was a pleasure to get time to photograph the crew who happily gave up their time.

Strobist info: Back right and left 1600 wl with barn doors at 14/th power and 7 degree reflector pointed at the side of the head. Behind subject 11 degree reflector with 1600 wl. at 1/4 power pointed at back garage door.
Front right 1600 wl 1/4 power in 40 inch octabank point at face and body. Octabank is high and right pointed down at 45 degree angle. All fired with pocket wizards.

While changing trains at Rotkreuz earlier that morning, Tm 232 022 arrived to await a path south with this permanent way train. It is seen approaching Brunnen en route south some 90 minutes later.

I built the engine with foam board, poster board, paper bags, glue, and paint. The straps are duct-tape. Thomas' headlight is a painted LED flashlight. I also built in a sound record/playback board and speaker so that the costume could play the Thomas and Friends theme.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, is serving as the lead agency for an eradication demonstration project for control of the invasive plant in the Erie Canal and Tonawanda Creek. Eradication is particularly important given the economic and ecological value of the waterway and risk of spread to multiple water bodies throughout New York and the Great Lakes.

South Carolina National Guard Soldiers from the 124th Engineer Company, 172nd Engineer Platoon and the 1782nd Engineer Company competed in the Best Engineer Competition at the McCrady Training Center Aug. 5, 2016. As one of the horizontal engineer tasks, each Soldier had to operate a motor grader in a confined space by maneuvering the vehicle without knocking a softball off the top of a cone.
