Just back from a quick trip south. Early morning on the May River, in the heart of the South Carolina lowcountry.

Situated in the Holden Flora Reserve, high above Jacksons Creek and approximately opposite the site of the iconic music festivals held there from 1972-1975.

The church was constructed in 1732 to 1757. In 1990, the was declared a historical monument.
The current structure was built in place of an older church constructed between the 13th and 14th centuries.
The church was named after the revered Saint Michel and features a Latin cross floor plan, a single nave, two bays, a semi-circular apse, an 18th-century organ and multiple valuable paintings and sculptures.
Paintings of the high altar with, in the center, "Saint Michael the Archangel casting the damned into Hell".
Shot on the train ride back from the Texans football game. We left a bit early, so the trains were still empty enough for a few pictures. I still wish I either had longer arms or a floating Koopa Troopa to take pictures with us BOTH in frame.

A lunch time walk with two friends around (part - a very small part) of Langstone Harbour, it's a beautiful but rather bleak place, empty benches . . .

Restaurant La Gaviota at the south end of Playa la Ropa is a family run business that has been in this location for decades.
We are here for our "sunset dinner". The name translates as "Seagull".
We never ate here before as it always looked like a dump. However, last year the son and daughter took over the operation, did a major revamp of the interior, the menu, the service, and yes increased the pricing.
The location now has great curb appeal - or is it beach side appeal?
Bring on the wine and the sunset por favor.
Condesa/Roma is rife with small mom and pop style cafes. The come in many shapes, decor and service offered. Amore Ti Amo Café is primarily a coffee shop open from 9 AM to 9 PM daily.
Amazing how they can make a living with so few seats. They would never make it in Vancouver.
