Actually, we sat a few gates down from our actual boarding area, where it wasn't too crowded. This area didn't have any incoming or departing flights, so we took a seat here to chill out for a bit. International flights require that you arrive 3 hours prior to departure, so you pretty much sit around and twiddle your thumbs while waiting.
One of the best things about Frankfurt's airport is that there are restrooms located at each gate---not just at random spots in the terminal. Also, duty-free stores are strategically placed in areas to tempt you with some last minute shopping.
Seemingly surplus to requirements, these chairs were gradually being overtaken by the undergrowth at the surprisingly bucolic Popham airfield.

Taken after the Millenium Stadium emptied following Wales won a Grand Slam in 2012. I liked the way the light caught the shiney plastic.
The flowers have peaked. The fair ended a little more than a week ago. And Fall is in the air. The monarchs are restless and ready to travel. The gardens are still beautiful.

More than anything I've posted recently, this one simply must be viewed LARGE.
Honest to God, I never meant to catch those two patrons in the middle of their pizza. I didn't even notice them at the time. I thought I was doing some kind of still life. Then I viewed the image on the big screen at home. What they must have thought as I snapped away out on the sidewalk I can only imagine.
This episode also brings to mind worrying implications for my basic powers of observation. If I didn't see them, what else am I not seeing?
