Empty Lot is a large geometric sculpture created using scaffolding, a grid of triangular wooden planters, and soil collected from parks across London including Peckham, Haringey and Westminster. Nothing will be planted in the soil, but it will be lit by lamps and watered throughout the six month display. The unpredictable nature of the work, which may grow and change from one week to the next, provokes questions about the city and nature, as well as wider ideas of chance, change, and hope.

Pre-dawn adventures on the backroads of Benton County, Washington.
While I was stopped taking photos along this road, a truck passed by, got up to the corner, stopped, and reversed all the way back to me. I wasn't quite sure what was going on, but when he got back to me, the driver rolled down his window and asked to make sure I was OK and didn't need a ride anywhere.
As much as I feel at home in the city, there's something to be said for the hospitality of a smaller town, and the willingness to help a stranger out. That said, most of my hesitation to stop for someone I don't know comes from some very weird experiences with helping out strangers in my time growing up here, rather than my experiences in the city. So I suppose there's crazies everywhere, and I should mostly just be happy that there are still people willing to take that chance to help a stranger out.

Behind the house there were many overgrown bushes etc. so I couldn't help but wonder if there was a garden there at one time. This was one thing we found in the garden area.
In August my aunt and uncle who live in North Dakota volunteered to take me abandonment exploring! My dad and my husband also came with. My uncle works for Fed Ex and also hunts and so he has seen alot of abandonment around ND. We had a blast! They took us to some really amazing abandoned places and we saw some beautiful parts of North Dakota.
This homestead is the first one we visited. It started out as a wet, cold morning. My uncle drove us all through empty fields where there didn't even appear to be tracks left. This old house is up on a hill overlooking very rural ND countryside. There really isn't anything left inside but we found plenty on the property! There was an old garbage pit as well as some old bits of glass etc. behind the house. This place was a blast to explore.
