Taylors' carousel in central Carlisle. The horses were going round with just two small children aboard.
I really wanted to feel something for this place. But I couldn't.
It's been around a long time, and there was a lot of controversy around the owners' plans to tear it down and replace it. Some people tried to claim it had heritage value. And... sure, it did... as much as any old local fixture has heritage value. And some pieces of it are cool...(in fact, I'm hoping to buy a few of the windows and doors for a project I'm doing, if the price is right). But overall, the place just never "worked" for me. Maybe because it smelled bad. Like stale draft beer and damp carpets and grease, and old cigarette smoke. Tearing it down is definitely the right thing to do. It's had its day. Bring on the new.

Salón Variedades (Churriana, Malaga); it was a Cinema and Varietés Saloon; it was closed before mid 50's. Actually, a garage.

In this photo, I wanted to focus on the filled jar with paint and blur the empty once including the one in the foreground. Placing the one with paint on the power line (point) to make it the main subject. I tried several times to take a good one with only focusing on the main jar, but it did not work because of the lighting and the placement of the items.
Empty N train cart departing from the Kings Highway Station. There was no hobos or weird odors coming from this cart and there was people in the other carts so this was rather unusual.
Why are they empty? Why are they bricked up? This benefits no one. Why not at least let people squat if you not going to use them or plan on demolition at some point.
Empty corrals today, but they certainly weren't empty very long ago. Bustling cowboys were certainly in the area branding and immunizing calves not too long ago.
"Emptiness"
Week 16
This week's prompt was "Lamp." I decided to use street lights instead because they are a little bit more photogenic than a boring house lamp. I thought this would've been an easy prompt, but it ended up being more difficult than than anticipated.
I came across this empty alley when I went for a walk along Capitol street in Charleston the other night. I had actually visited this spot during the day and decided that it would look better a night.

Cross-processed film shot with a Russian Smena 8M Lomo camera. I opened the back to let light leak in before rewinding the film. Some scratches on the negatives caused by the camera.
Empty living room with a peek at our view. It really is beautiful. At night it's all glittery city lights.
Once the snow began melting in Austin and people could drive on the road, on Saturday, February 20, HEB's bread shelves were close to empty. The empty shelves caused many to panic shop, thinking the worst was yet to come. Because of this, HEB created a two-item limit on essentials like water, bread, and milk.
Emptying the first batch of beer out of our newest foudres. These foudres once held Pineau des Charentes, a fortified, French wine.
Seriously, someone told us we were lucky the train was empty. Usually there are people riding on top. Ahem.
