The boarding platform at Rockside Road station in Independence on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad may be empty now, but that won't last for long.
The empty tomb of Algerian national hero Abul Qadir Al-Jazairi (1808-1883), leader of the famous rebellion against the French invasion of Algeria in the mid-19th century. After losing several battles against Abdul Qadir, the French had to bring more enforcements into the country and practiced a scorched-earth policy to terrorize the population. Abdul Qadir was forced to surrender in 1847 and was later exiled to France. He remained there until 1852 when he moved to Bursa, Turkey, and then to Damascus in 1855.
In Damascus, he devoted himself to teaching and writing, and quickly gained popularity and respect among Syrians. In 1860, when sectarian violence broke out in Damascus, he provided refuge for more than 15,000 Christians who escaped the fighting, and helped to bring back peace and calm. He died in 1883 and was buried in the Mosque of Ibn Arabi in Damascus.
The remains of Abdul Qadir were brought back to Algeria on July 5, 1966, four years after Algerian independence and 136 years after the French invasion of Algeria.

The main focus is on the empty photo album and everything else is left subtly in the background. There is a nice color variation in the background, but I didn't want it to be overwhelming.
I adjusted the camera's aperture to create a desired blur effect on the background and kept the shutter speed and ISO value at optimal levels to make sure the image looks as nice as possible.
Although the background is blurred, it holds some pretty interesting aspects. Both sides of the background have a different feel to them and they make the picture look like it has a story to tell.
I could have tried out some darker tones for the picture, and a couple of different settings, but this one seemed right at the time, so I kept it.
This hallway seemed a little too empty for my taste -- it looks like one of those hallways from a horror flick. And it's not just empty on that day either; every time we visit the hospital, this particular hallway at this particular wing of the hospital is always this empty!
These used up fabric bolts are being saved and will soon be decorated and turned into some sort of deuling mechanism by wild kids.
