On an alley off the Thames, somewhere around Queenhithe / Vintner's Court, but I can't recall exactly.
I'm working on a project for my photography class that involves taking "appealing" pictures of the university. However, I seem to run into scenes like this: random, sorta decayed, and not exactly what my professor is looking for.
But I'm feeling inspired to keep this sort of work up. The campus is riddled with random little areas like this. I smell a series Flickr!

An empty saddle for all those friends not present.
A buddy of mine is a US Army Ranger. Whenever we are together he always toasts "To us and those like us...damn few of 'em". This always makes me smile.
So I hope everyone knows, just because you are absent, doesn't mean you are not present in my heart. Happy New Year to all my friends, I wish you a prosperous new year!

The 2015 Hyundai Commission in the Turbine Hall
Empty Lot is a large geometric sculpture created using scaffolding, a grid of triangular wooden planters, and soil collected from parks across London including Peckham, Haringey and Westminster. Nothing will be planted in the soil, but it will be lit by lamps and watered throughout the six month display. The unpredictable nature of the work, which may grow and change from one week to the next, provokes questions about the city and nature, as well as wider ideas of chance, change, and hope.

I know there are plenty of photos showing how shopping malls are emptying out across America. These snaps are from a walkabout at Valley West Mall in West Des Moines. We used to go here for Christmas and back-to-school shopping and to catch a movie. Today two of the three department stores are empty and while a few stores remain much of the traffic seems to be people taking an indoor walk.

Detalle de la fachada del arruinado antiguo Cine Castilla de Béjar, originalmente Casa del Pueblo socialista, expropiado al sindicato UGT por el estado franquista:
El edificio, junto al conocido Bar Bodegón es de titularidad municipal, después el largo proceso de recuperación del mismo tras haber sido robado al sindicato UGT por la dictadura franquista. El pasado 19 de noviembre de 2007 tenía lugar en Madrid la firma del acuerdo por el que el edificio pasaba de nuevo a ser del pueblo de Béjar y tras haber estado en el "limbo", en una situación en la que nadie podía determinar su propiedad.
“El 8 de junio de 1930 la Unión General de Trabajadores adquirió este edificio a partir de contribuciones que realizaban diferentes asociaciones de profesionales como los tejedores, los blanqueadores… entre otros hasta llegar a un total de 20 aportaciones correspondientes a 20 gremios”.
