Will I always feel this way
So empty
And estranged?
and of these cut throat busted sunsets
These cold and damp white mornings
I have grown weary
If through my cracked and dusty
Dime store lips
I spoke these words out loud
Would no one hear me?

For my fourth year of college, I did an internship at a baptist church in Perham, ME. Having lived in the county for a full school year, I immediately fell in love with the people, landscape, and of course the former BAR. Thankfully, I've been able to return to northern Maine in some respect each of the past three winters. Last January found Geoff and I in McAdam en route to Maine, having finally caught up with one of two westbounds for the day out of Saint John. With a fresh crew on board, MNR 6340 leads the empty chip train past the station in McAdam bound for northern Maine and ultimately the former BAR.

This was taken at Oliver Winery --it is outside and it was raining ---so no one was there--but I like the light on this--hope you like it too! At least it is not another butterfly shot---hehehe
Have a great day everyone---thanks for visiting!------- I am busy this week so I will be on and off of flickr----if I miss you this morning--catch you this afternoon.
"...And I've been knocking but no one answers
And I've been knocking most all the day
Oh and I've been calling oh hey hey Johnny
Can't you come out to play
And through their tears
Some say he farmed his best in younger years
But he'd have said that roots grow stronger if only he could hear
Who lived there
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls
We hear, we hear your name.
And I've been knocking but no one answers
And I've been knocking most all the day
Oh and I've been calling oh hey hey Johnny
Can't you come out to play.
Johnny can't you come out to play in your empty garden?"

An empty street in Sant Elm, Majorca. I applied a VSCO Velvia preset in Lightroom to give the colors some punch. I like the result pretty much and for once I think this is a shot that no monochrome conversion could beat.
Some might miss a storytelling element, but I don't. The emptiness to me is one of the key elements in this shot.
