All raw material are purchased initially from reputed vendor with correlated test certificates. After arriving the material at our shop they are cross check with the TC given by the vendor and sample from above lot is sent for check testing at reputed Lab. Heat No. are punched on confirmation of Lab. Report. Prior to manufacturing each item is stamped with the related Heat No. and the amt. of pipes or raw materials debited from the stock book. Dies are checked from time to time if the dies are oversized rectification is arrived prior to Mfg. All internal inspection stage wise book is maintained. Where in day-to-day progress of manufacturing dimensions are noted and seen that they are within permissible limits. During the mfg. inspection is carried out to check if the cracks or deformities are present and if found then the material is rejected. After the product is manufactured, 100%-dimensional check is carried out. The samples of the batch are sent for testing for Micro and chemicals analysis and on receiving satisfaction report then only items are etched and stored in a proper location of finish goods.
The square is a piece of opal. The substance is highly reactive to heat, so we had to embed it in a tube of glass and then make a marble around it. There is a dot of air in there next to the chip. Its very hard to encase something in glass without getting air bubbles. The stuff on the right is a swirl of custom mixed glass with some glittery glass ("unobtainium") and an exotic blue.
This project provided a much-needed renovation of the entire Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) Outpatient Surgery Center, including new supporting administrative space on the floor below, new rooftop HVAC units, and seismic upgrades to the building.
Our design approach began with an intensive Discovery phase to evaluate the space needs, functional requirements, staff and patient flow, and building system efficacy. In addition to regular stakeholder workshops, we embedded ourselves for three days into the surgery center environment to observe workflows and interview staff. This interaction was vital to our team’s understanding of the most critical renovation needs, which included better acoustic and physical privacy for patients, centralized storage, right-sized spaces, and building systems upgrades.
The remodel includes three operating rooms, three procedure rooms, 12 patient bays, two nurse stations, a scope processing department that serves the adjacent hospital, and new administrative space on the lower level. In the previous layout, there was no visibility for staff between the Pre-Op and PACU patient areas and both were served by one, undersized nurse station.
The interiors feature calming blue and green tones with warm wood accents inspired by the Monterey coastline. Clean lines and midcentury modern influence are taken from the existing hospital’s architecture. The new layout preserves views to the surrounding forest landscape from the waiting room and operating rooms, a beloved feature by the staff.
