The melt-water from this glacier fills Lago Torre, flows downstream, through Lago Viedma and Lago Argentino, then down the Rio Santa Cruz to the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, and after it arrives, it is incorporated in the cells and tissues of plants, animals and microbes. Water is, by weight and volume, the dominant constituent of every living thing. It passes through them, evaporates from the surface of lakes, rivers and oceans, condenses in the atmosphere as clouds and returns to the uplands and mountains as rain and snow. At this moment there is nothing that is alive in my line of sight but life is present by implication. We exist with the illusion that we are separate from our physical environment and it's other inhabitants. But the river that sustains us, runs through us, as it runs through everything, on it's way to completing the circle.

A series of figures using every unprinted version of the classic Lego wizard hat. I managed to get ahold of a prototype hat in red, which kind of inspired the rest of them. According to BrickLink one was sold in white at one point, though I've never seen one myself.

Another 100% purist build here actually, just worked out well this time.

.while I'm working on a project, a story bionicle unlike what I usually do writing a character biography by this time I hope to design a thematic known story and new content. on this occasion I bring to elemental ice.

I saw air elementals dancing over the Gulf Stream.

This is two shots combined into one video. the clear bulbs are filled with methanol and metal salts. The first is copper chloride for a green flame and the second is calcium chloride for a red flame. The aluminum dishes have a dollop of gelled alcohol to light the methanol mist created by the impact of the steel bearing.

In case anyone wonders, I am about ten feet away, full face mask with a fire extinguisher right next to me. I'm wearing cotton clothing because it doesn't melt into sticky hot crap as it burns.

The hose is also pressured up and ready to go. I've not had any alarming accidents but I want to be ready if something goes bad.

Cheers.

i've always wanted to express my appreciation for contemporary dance, their ability to translate light-shadow movements with awe-inspiring grace...

by David UU. Ottawa, Curvd H&z, 1999.

a highly overlooked artist, David's work is unique in its formal contortionism, his rementia given full play into whatever genre(s) would most accurately accommodate it. Elemental Journey is one such prose piece charting the further adventures of "the captain" that has randomly appeared throughout his writing ("don't give up the ship i've got the oars").

David began editing & publishing Fleye Press when he was 17 (i seem to recall something about him sleeping in the back seat of a car in the underground parking at Rochdale College in its early days, the Coach House Press Printing School housed there), was an active editor of GRoNK before he turned 2o, was briefly the Canadian editor for the Italian avantgarde artrag Lotta Poetica, replaced Fleye Press (& its magazine Luv (för pöemz)) with the far more ambitious & wide-ranging Derwyddon Press (& Lodgistiks magazine) in the 197os, then again in the 198os with Silver Birch Press (later MindWare) & The Berkeley Horse, all the while issuing random oddities of his own through a limited few sympathetic publishers through to his suicide in 1994.

besides the poetry, prose, visual & sound poetries & collage works (& publications & exhibitions), he was also, before his agoraphobia set in, involved in the performance of "ritual theatre". with each new identifiable phase of his activities (as signalled by his switches of imprint names), David used to gather up what was left of his previous "errors" & burn the lot, an attempt at history erasure that was only partly successful (Fleye & Derwyddon material is not common in the rare book trade but it's out there still).

this copy of Elemental Journey was about to be sent off to someone but, typically, i reread everything i send off & discovered this one to be unsalvageably misbound. oops. "we stand without a ship like a trail of spit on the face of Gob".

in a private ceremony, this copy is sent on its own elemental journey through the firepit to the compost in the garden beyond, possibly to reäppear later this year in a bowl of borscht:

"ah the vision of a memorial said the captain as the crew laid their table..."

It returns upon us, as it was foretold. Do not try to escape your tragic fate, embrace it, for in the end we are all one with the BLOOE ELEMENTAL.

Coming to the Flying Pony on the weekend of 11/20/2020 The fat pack of Elemental ponies, including a Ice pony, a Lava pony, and a Earth pony, Earth and Ice will be available seperatly for wanderlust weekend only! After its fatpack only Sorry loves!

Another from the summer 2012 archives in the face of all this gross cold snow and we are having in Calgary, this is actually one of the first photos I ever took with my 60D, an experiment in long exposure with beautiful stream water lit by wonderful sunlight flowing around a rock and a dandelion piece that was sticking out of the water.

I like how dreamy and magical the water looked around the piece of flower and rock!

Hope you are all having a great Monday so far!

(Oh boy. This looks really dark on Flickr, at least for me. Click the link below to dim the lights.)

From the archive. Newly seen.

I have so much color that I need to be uploading, but I keep finding myself going back to my roots. Tomorrow there will be color.

This is Bountiful Lake, better known as the Bountiful pond. The sign says lake, but I don't believe it. I love the sunset views in Bountiful, and this day was no different. The clouds gather strength as they move south over The Great Salt Lake. Bountiful is located on the southern end of the lake, so the clouds have had ample time to create their amazingness.

This is a panorama consisting of two three exposure HDRs, stitched in PS CS3. It did look pretty cool in color, but I like it this way a bit more.

If you'd like to see the two pieces:

Or the entire thing:

"Elemental" is a reference to another Loreena McKennitt link. If you have an extra 10 minutes, watch The Highwayman. The bodhran is one of my favorite instruments. I have no idea why.

My friend came by today and taught me some new PS stuff. I have so much to learn!
