Earth Elemental

An ancient form of golem, forged from the primal essence of the earth itself. Earth elementals are mindless drones, created and controlled by powerful magics. Nearly indestructible, these stone giants prowl the slopes of the Gelder Peaks. Most are long forgotten relics from a bygone era. Forgotten eons ago by their masters who now inhabit the same soil from whence the elemental was raised.

*** Just having more fun with Chima joints! I am particularly pleased with how this guy turned out. The design is all mine; however, conceptually he is based off of art from Guild Wars 2.

Please feel free to leave comments! :D

This is my entry for the 2018 Bio-Cup. It features Onua and Tahu in a duel of elements, including a stone hand and a fire phoenix.

I had originally been working on these two Toa designs, which I'm really happy with, but alone I didn't think they would fit the theme of "Elements." But then I thought it might be neat to actually build their elemental attacks and try to put together a scene. I hope the concept here is clear enough.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Another one from dawn at Shingle Street on the Suffolk coast on Friday.

My idea was to make a spirit-of-the-Earth kind of image, a combination of the four basic elements in one gigantic angel. The great force of nature coming to warn us.

Elemental Fury is based on a stock photo and composed of many photo references from my own collection. Also made for a competition of the advanced photoshop magazine.

How do I do this??

Minute amounts of water, windfall samples - organic and mineral - are collected from the very landscape depicted within each picture - and chemically bonded with the film over 12 months. The result: a developed film and unedited, printed images that are somewhere between a classic photograph and a totally abstract image, depicting the interaction between fundamental chemical elements present at each place & time, representing a more visceral and literal experience of being present in landscapes in a constant state of natural or unnatural flux.
