Dramatic moment on the tip of Madeira - the view back from Sao Lorenco. Arid earth, rain, wind and sea spray. 10 minutes later it was a clear blue sky.

I captured the two images that make up this Vertorama shortly after sunset on Saturday evening… from one of my favourite (local) locations of all time… Scarborough Beach!!
Candy-floss skies and candy-floss waves… I really hope this one satisfies your sweet-tooth… heh heh… it definitely satisfied mine!
Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm, aperture of f18, with a 1/4th second exposure.

Elvion is one of my favourite sims in SL, and the place I do most of my fantasy RP. Here I am a Drow, just hanging out while my horse grazes. Skin by Elemental, eyes by Suicidal Unborn, outfit by the Plastik, hair by Sintiklia, Pose and sword by Poseidon.
A frozen frame from a grand, unspoken epic of the natural world. It tells a story of survival, crossing borders, and the eternal clash between two elemental forces.
A single bird hangs suspended in the vastness, a heartbeat between the restless sea and the ancient stone. Here, the world is reduced to its purest elements: wind, water, and earth.
The bird acts as a strong, solitary focal point. It anchors the viewer's eye right in the dead center, breaking up the massive horizontal landscape elements.
This image thrives on high dramatic contrast between the volatile ocean texture and the static grandeur of the desert mountains.
The frame is divided into three distinct bands (foreground green-blue water, midground dark blue waves, background purple mountains) that give structure to the landscape.
The chaotic, energetic whitecaps of the water create a powerful visual contrast against the rigid, unmoving geometry of the mountain range. The choppy waves move in continuous, chaotic rhythms, while the layered peaks of the Sinai rise like silent purple walls into the sky.
The image leans heavily into a cool, stylized palette. The deep blues of the Gulf of Aqaba shift beautifully into atmospheric purples and mauves along the mountain ridges.
Layered atmospheric haze softens the distant peaks, successfully creating a strong sense of vast physical scale and depth. Harsh daylight accentuates the choppy texture of the water and carves deep shadows into the rocky crevices of the mountains.
This shot captures the raw, poetic energy of Dahab at its finest. Look closely and you can almost feel the fierce desert wind whipping across the surface, churning the crystal-clear Red Sea into a dramatic canvas of deep blues and frothy whitecaps. The solitary sea bird glides effortlessly.. a perfect symbol of the wild, bohemian freedom that draws travelers from all over the world to this coastal oasis.
It is a striking dialogue between the temporary rush of the water and the permanent stillness of the desert. There is a deep, quiet poetry in this space.. a reminder of how small we are against the magnificent, wild scale of nature.
Clouds v Shastina. The higher peak of Mt. Shasta is visible in the background behind the flatter-topped Shastina
I love to feel the power of nature or just to see and guess what it is capable of. Even if she is quite capable of worrying me a lot at times, because I am aware that I cannot do anything, absolutely nothing, to counter her.
It was the same here on the wet and slippery rocks on the banks of the Hubelj Waterfall in Slovenia, which I had only recently discovered by accident. During a rest I heard his noise from afar and then followed it.
And now I'm standing here and trying to squeeze this unbridled force into a picture while the masses of water raced past me with a loud roar (without slipping or accidentally knocking my camera into the river). An almost hopeless undertaking because you simply have to experience something like this yourself.

Galatians 4:9 “But now, since you know God, or rather have become known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and bankrupt elemental forces? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?”

I'm culling my images and digging in the archives. I really need to 'key word' my photos if I ever expect to find anything!
This was taken during a wander around a harbour whilst on holiday recently. I quite liked the simplicity of the lines and shapes as well as the subtle colours (C2150068)
