O maior festival de Hip Hop do Distrito Federal, Elemento em Movimento, fez muita história na 4° edição do evento, que acontece anualmente, e chegou a receber mais de 50 atrações e atividades culturais e de formação. Nascido e criado em Ceilândia, o Elemento em Movimento tem a temática desse ano "De Rolê na Quebrada" na ideia de somar todas quebradas do Distrito Federal num só encontro de Cultura de Rua.
O festival foi realizado nos dias 5 e 6 de Setembro, e contou com presenças e nomes da cultura de rua de diversas regiões do Brasil, conectando as forças na quebrada, com: Gutierrez, Rashid, Flora Mattos, Bnegão e Seletores de Frequência, Tribo de Jah, Rael da Rima, Rapadura Xique Chico e muito mais da cultura hip hop brasileira.

ART-ON-THE-EDGE returns with another amazing show of inspiring and fantastical artwork by local, independent artists, showing the scope, diversity and dynamism of artisan artwork.
After the tragic loss of the exhibition’s co-founder David Capes, the theme of this exhibition is “Memory”, and there will be part of the show commemorating his life and works as an artist blacksmith.

The exhibition is aimed at being an all-round art experience, with the individual art-pieces being situated within the installation of the barn itself, art within art, bringing a greater sense of personal involvement for those who visit, proving, once again that ART-ON-THE-EDGE is no ordinary art show.
The art on show will include 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work, metal and multi- media sculpture, wood and stone carving, painting, video and installation work, all dynamic and innovative in nature.
A dear friend gave me some Tibetan prayer flags, each flag and color representing the Tibetan view of the five elements of the universe. The prayers written on them are offerings of peace and love, prayed each time the wind brushes their surface.
If you are extremely lucky, you get to meet a few people that really make you appreciate how extraordinary life is. I am luckier than most. My wife, my children, my friends all give this to me in diverse ways. I thank God for all those in my life that love me and that I get to love.
In the last year, I lost a dear friend who died unexpectedly, tragically and far too young. In the midst of that loss, I met and found a couple of new friends I can't imagine being without and have been great blessings to me. I have been married for 15 years to a woman that loves me. I have two children I can't imagine life without. I have family that gives me even today love and kindness. I have some very close, dear friends that mind me in times of despair and share the joys in times of happiness. What we all get from these relationships is far more than the sum of their parts.
These Tibetan offerings and requests of love need both the prayers written on the elements and the spirit of the wind to occur. Otherwise, each is purposeless. Perhaps those we love and that love us are like that.

Beglückende Wehmut
Noch ist es nicht winterlich, doch die im strömenden Regen auf Einlass wartenden Fans kriegen am Dienstagabend bereits einen Vorgeschmack auf die garstige Jahreszeit. Element Of Crime weiss im gut gefüllten Volkshaus bald mit einem Exkurs über den Winter zu trösten. Sven Regener singt mit prosaischer Stimme, wie er seiner Liebe auf das «brüchige Eis deiner Jugend» auf einem Baggersee folgt, einzig darum, weil: «Seit ich dich kenne, mag ich es gerne, wenn der Winter kommt - dann wird's früher dunkel.» Dann bläst er den Worten verträumte Trompetenstösse hinterher.
Zuvor hat der Sänger und Texter der Berliner Gruppe augenzwinkernd erklärt, er mache gerne Witze, weil ja alles so traurig sei. Melancholisch zumindest klingt einmal mehr auch das letztjährige Album von Element Of Crime, «Mittelpunkt der Welt», das an diesem Abend im Zentrum steht. Regener, der vermutlich als Schriftsteller mittlerweile bekannter ist («Herr Lehmann»), besticht in diesen Liedern einmal mehr mit feinsinnigen Beschreibungen von zerbröckelnder Zweisamkeit. Stoisch stellt er einmal fest: «Du merkst, dass der Klang deiner Stimme mir keine Liebeslieder mehr singt.» Ein andermal blitzt Schalk auf: «Finger weg von meiner Paranoia, die war mir immer lieb und teuer, nie liess sie mich so kalt im Stich wie du.»
Neben solchem Witz und einiger Komik liegt es vor allem an der Musik, dass diese Lieder nicht deprimieren, sondern tröstlich wirken. Die vier Musiker spielen sympathisch unaufgeregt und mit offensichtlichem Spass, schaffen mit feinem Handwerk eine behagliche Grundlage für die Texte. Zunehmend kommen auch ältere Songs zum Zug, allerdings nicht die englischen aus der Anfangsphase der 1985 gegründeten Band - das Englisch beschränkt sich auf die letzte Zugabe: «Across The Universe» von den Beatles.
Höhepunkte im über zwei Stunden dauernden Konzert sind eine rockige Interpretation von «Immer unter Strom» und eine zarte Version von «Weisses Papier». Beglückende Wehmut unter den mit den Musikern gealterten Fans kommt auf, als gegen Schluss gesungen wird: «Wir taumeln durch die Strassen, so als wären wir jung und schön, Schlaf ist jetzt nur ein Irrtum, und die Musik tut nicht mehr weh.»
