I made a trip to the recycling facility. The car couldn't safely hold anymore stuff. It was a good day. The recycling effort by Allegheny County was noble in that it raised money for the humane society of Western PA.
Been meaning to get into hardware more, so I got a Mintyboost kit from Adafruit and assembled it. The bonus: It works and I did not injure myself.
The black slab is my DS Lite, the red light means it's charging.
Couldn't find my tin snips, but I could find my dremel. The hole is a little wider than I'd like, but maybe someone can suggest something to seal the gap.

I asked some amateur radio associates if they had any dead vacuum tubes or other turn-of-the-century electronics stuff that I could incorporate into steampunk projects. Frank gave me a box of tubes.
uC prototyping blocks, aka "Dev Blocks." These are small single component boards that are ready to plug into a breadboard.
Here the connectors are interlocked.

An arduino driving the little sparkfun LCDs, with a simple bouncing ball screensaver. The ball changes colours as it moves!
Printed circuit board that should be equivalent to the breadboard that displayed The Eight Colors. It'll be much smaller and neater, about two and a half inches square and with a minimum of actual wires - it'll be mostly low-profile surface mount stuff like on this board.
It's a bit goofier than most boards I make, because I think the recipient will appreciate that.
Everything is mirror-image because you have to do that to get the boards right. What you see here gets laser-printed onto the Special Blue Stuff, then applied face-down to the bare copper circuit board and ironed on. When you peel away the Special Blue Stuff, you're left with a mirror image of what was printed, which was a mirror image of what you wanted, so you end up with what you wanted.
I have a terrible grasp of visual/spatial stuff, so I always have to walk myself through that concept.

The ATtiny13 is accepting a program, but I've not yet written the program for it! All connections seem fine.
The power supply for AMPly. 22V at 2A and 3V3 at 1.5A, via two switch mode regulators. A nice chunky 100VA transformer steps down the mains (which has a very nice inlet with illuminated switch...) and two 4700µF 100V capacitors provide smoothing (and add chunkyness).
