This week, the most exciting thing that happened was yet another massive thunderstorm. So it's another one of these.. :)

"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset." ~ Crowfoot ~

Sitting at Great Bridgeford we were surprised to see a strange train appear on the far track, it was the Electrification train reversing, propelled by 24075.

D5075 left Derby works 26/03/1960 and was allocated to March before moving to London as a long time Willesden based loco, under TOPS it became 24075. It was withdrawn 31/01/1976 and cut at Swindon Works 01/07/1976.

Stepnogorsk, a closed town in Soviet times, has the unique electrified passenger railway to transport workers to various industrial plants outside the town. Isolated and not being part of the state railways, it runs a set of ER22 DC EMU trains.

ER22 series were produced in 1960s and due to some technical issues, had only 70 units built. These were used in Moscow region, but mostly were excluded from service in the 1990s. Part of the series were passed to Stepnogorsk railway where they remain in service until now.

Stepnogorsk is the only place to see these rare trainsets in action and attracts many Russian railfans because of that.

Newly reactivated electric locomotive 8606, flys through Marrickville working as E704 from Clyde to Bondi Junction, to drop rail off across the Wooloomooloo viaduct.

Owing to changes to emissions in the underground network, SETS, in collaboration with Pacific National and Transport for NSW have reactivated 1 86 class locomotive for use on works trains, with the primary use for jobs in the underground. It is hoped other members of the class will be reactivated in time.

My submission for a photo group this month.

"Electrifying"

Well, wow, my Mexican adventures are coming to an end. A wedding that will stand out for me, forever, as being one of my favourites. Great people, great vibe, and a real sense of creativity flowing here on the Caribbean sea.

It's a really fun thing for me when I work with people (which happens a lot, and I'm thankful for it) who love to create. People who can hear the words "this might look like crap, but it could be awesome" and, well...just go for it.

Damien and Morgan....congratulations. Truly.

Homeward bound tomorrow into the PEI snow storms!

This plug won't serve its intended purpose (it was misidentified by its online seller probably because he might have checked a chart instead the plug's markings), but at least it has an alternate use as slider fodder.

Got power ghouls Frankie not my best edit tbh but oh well.

I am experimenting with more ways to "paint" the bubble with light. I have some ideas that I can't wait to try this week. How do you find value in what you do? I am so grateful that I have this hobby to keep me curious and interested and although it does use my time and I am not monetizing it, I feel that there is still value in the exercise itself. How we pass the time whether binge-watching Netflix, or news, reading, cleaning. exploring the world whatever it is that frees your mind and keeps you sane has value whether it is productive or idle.

Arriva North West has been trialling a Yutong E12LF 12-metre all-electric bus in Liverpool and Manchester ahead of an order of 12 BYD EV 12-metre buses for services in Liverpool.

The Yutong E12LF demonstrator is pictured at Old Trafford in Manchester working the 263 service to Altrincham. It is registered YK66 CBC with the fleet number of 7911.

The latest vehicle to join the GoBus fleet is this Caetano e-City Gold recently displaced (along with its sisters) by Transport UK from route C10. GoBus is no stranger to the type having had both an electric and hydrogen version on-loan in recent years.

Former 1515 BV20 GRU now joins the GoBus fleet as 6515 and following the uploading of a newly created high definition display set went out on the road for a few photos on Monday 6th April 2026. Its seen here basking in the Spring sunshine on Walnut Way, Swanley. The vehicle made its first public appearance in its new coat of paint at the 2026 South East Bus Festival on Saturday 11th April 2026.

Summertime Thunderstorms are something special in the Southern Plains with the storm complex the other night being no exception as it threw out anvil crawler after crawler over the city lights of Oklahoma City.

The morning sun explodes off of the stainless steel coaches on MARC train 525 was pushing out of the Martins stop for DC behind HHP-8 number 4915 on a warm and sunny morning in Middle River.

This thing is what passes for variety around here as the electrics are usually in storage while the diesels rule the MARC Penn Line trains.

Today was the first day for Go Ahead London operating TFL London Bus Route Route 153, which runs from Finsbury Park Station and Moorgate FINSBURY SQUARE. The route now runs with NEW Alexander Dennis Enviro200EVs (Electric single decker buses). Previously operated by HCT Group. I did not ride this bus as they are the same as the batch currently on the 360.

A CTA service sparks an arc over the diamond at the Lake and Wells interlocking in Chicago's Inner Loop. It was...shockingly good.
