The vibrant energy of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was absolutely exhilarating! Not even a quick cell phone ICM could smooth out the intensity.

Shot from my hotel room's balcony on the 48th floor. Just could not get enough of that view!

6 exposures Digital Blending, shot with the Nikkor fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8, then de-fisheyed with ImageTrends Photoshop plug-in. I really wanted to do a proper panorama, but without a pano head it was simply impossible.

It's 33c / 96f in Jerusalem today, and I went looking for an archive photo. The pylon, high tension wires and pigeons were found in a trip up north. A hill nearby enabled the capture without having to point up too much.

Several Topaz programs were used to enhance the image.

Hope you are having better weather; maybe there really is something to global warming.

I always enjoy a good storm just about sunset.

It's no exaggeration to say that the local Starling murmuration has 'saved' our winter this year

Short-eared owl numbers are down and in truth not a lot else going on

We know it'll likely break up soon when the migrant birds decide it's time to head for the coast and home

But that'll also mark the start of the spring migration so it'll be sad to say goodbye to our winter friends but what a lot to look forward to!

Auf einer Pferdekoppel an der Bachweide des Flusses Dill in Wetzlar.

In a paddock on the banks of the river Dill in Wetzlar.

This was taken on the same morning as this shot. It's funny, there was decent fog at the cemetery when we left. Then, while racing up Hwy 26 to the Portland Zoo exit, we were above the fog level and there was full sun. After winding down the road toward the Japanese Garden, we were back down to an elevation just low enough for fog. I love when everything falls into place.

Conrail train MO-6 was northbound on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor at Orangeville back in 1977.

A pair of GE E33s had the train well in hand. 4605 was built by GE in 1956 for the Virginian, then went to the New Haven, Penn Central, and finally Conrail before it was scrapped when Conrail abandoned its electrified lines in favor of diesel locomotion.

Big monsoon storm rolled into the city Friday night. We tried to get to a desired location in the East Valley to compose some shots. But the front was moving so fast that it overtook us. When the pouring rain and wind eased up, I managed to get a few of it behind us.

Lens was a Tamron 01BB 24mm f/2.5.

Sometimes I'll look at my photos here on Flickr and think to myself how messy my Flickr looks. I haven't settled on a style/look and that I'm all over the place with editing, composition and subjects. But the fact of the matter is that I'm still trying to figure out what I enjoy shooting the most. Maybe it takes a lifetime. But its hard to not gravitate toward a particular style of images solely because they "do better" in terms of a social media response. I suppose it can be a validation sort of thing and I my self know a handful of other artists who have caught themselves taking more of the same photos because they are simply more liked than others.

Do my photos have my personality in them at all? Do people really recognize my messy work? I don't know. Maybe some can recognize some of my work and others just don't see it. I know at the end of the day, I only need to like my own work but unfortunately I am struggling to like my own work. Sometimes I like my own but its a rare occasion.

The question that keeps popping up in my mind, do I even enjoy photographing anymore? Am I being too hard on myself causing me not enjoy it as much anymore?

Can social media be to blame? I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility that is for sure.

Anyways, just wanted to share some thoughts that most of you most likely wont read, but if you do..hey you're a good friend!
