The striking color of this wildflower amazed me. This flower might be Pale Flax.

Cook's first kettle was a big cast iron affair that sat on the wood burning range. That was nothing! At the opposite end of the range was a monster of a cast iron fountain; big brass spout hanging out over the floor. Don't know what that is? Look it up. There was no plumbed in hot water in those days!

Then came gas, and indoor plumbing. The cast iron kettle was relegated — too slow. Then the fountain went to a museum!

Now the mantra is "electrify everything". Cook's new range is sleek, powered by induction, no stoking required and no indoor emissions. How long will the turquoise kettle last? I'd say its days are numbered too!

That original kitchen had character; atmosphere — soot, grease — that kind of thing. This is all stainless and sterile. If there's a down side, I couldn't revive an abandoned newborn lamb in front of this range. Those were the days!

I did this with Teleidoscope week 29 Electrified in mind. I also thought it fits for ODC -starts with S as in shocked starts with S. Lastly it will be 348:365.

Anyone afraid of heights?

Thanks to Kirit for such an insane night, I have always wanted a shot like this! I did a pano as well, but that will be a bit more difficult to stitch together. Someday!

is there anybody....

out there?

no idea if anyone really uses this platform anymore, but i still use it for photo backup.

anyway, hello flickr world.

it’s been a long long while.

side note, i am completely clueless about how all the photo groups & such work now.. i probably added this to a bunch of groups that don’t exist anymore, sorry in advance!

Here's another from Show Low Lake a couple nights ago. The weather has been so gray and gloomy up in the White Mountains this week, lightning has been about the only thing I have had to shoot.

Sun has just set. Lens is smc PENTAX-A 135mm f2.8.

This week, the most exciting thing that happened was yet another massive thunderstorm. So it's another one of these.. :)

"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset." ~ Crowfoot ~

Sitting at Great Bridgeford we were surprised to see a strange train appear on the far track, it was the Electrification train reversing, propelled by 24075.

D5075 left Derby works 26/03/1960 and was allocated to March before moving to London as a long time Willesden based loco, under TOPS it became 24075. It was withdrawn 31/01/1976 and cut at Swindon Works 01/07/1976.

"Electrifying"

Well, wow, my Mexican adventures are coming to an end. A wedding that will stand out for me, forever, as being one of my favourites. Great people, great vibe, and a real sense of creativity flowing here on the Caribbean sea.

It's a really fun thing for me when I work with people (which happens a lot, and I'm thankful for it) who love to create. People who can hear the words "this might look like crap, but it could be awesome" and, well...just go for it.

Damien and Morgan....congratulations. Truly.

Homeward bound tomorrow into the PEI snow storms!

This plug won't serve its intended purpose (it was misidentified by its online seller probably because he might have checked a chart instead the plug's markings), but at least it has an alternate use as slider fodder.

Got power ghouls Frankie not my best edit tbh but oh well.

I am experimenting with more ways to "paint" the bubble with light. I have some ideas that I can't wait to try this week. How do you find value in what you do? I am so grateful that I have this hobby to keep me curious and interested and although it does use my time and I am not monetizing it, I feel that there is still value in the exercise itself. How we pass the time whether binge-watching Netflix, or news, reading, cleaning. exploring the world whatever it is that frees your mind and keeps you sane has value whether it is productive or idle.
