In recognition of their exemplary roles as educators, Baldwin Wallace recently honored Drs. Barbara (Mueller) Sawrey ’73 and Thea (McAfee) Wilson ’75 as Outstanding Educators and celebrated Dorin Jackson ’10 and Sarah Piscsalko ’13 as Jill Herrick Graduate Education Scholarship recipients. The four individuals were lauded March 25 at the 2018 Celebration of Outstanding Educators.

US Ag Teachers are welcomed to the Korean Agricultural Education Association (KAEA). This is the equivalent to the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE).

Steve Battles is a dedicated elementary school teacher with a passion for teaching. He has been recommended for the prestigious Educator of the Year/Teacher of the Year award and has written a guide filled with tips on teaching techniques for children with disruptive behavior disorders in elementary school. Through his hard work and unwavering commitment to education, Steve has made a lasting impact on his students and the field of education as a whole.

Mary Walsh is the Concordia educator who looks after the men and women who volunteer from the West Montreal Readaptation Centre. In the basement of the Hall building, where the blue bins are brought after being collected by the men, she says the men find it hard to deal with the amount of garbage they find in the blue bins. "It's so discouraging for the guys when they open up the bins and there's a lot of stuff in there that shouldn't be in there in the first place. If I can just get people to stop putting coffee cups in the recycling, I'd be happy."

Mary McLeod Bethune was an educator. Her school is still opened today.
