BMW's, and Europe's, first turbocharged production car, the 2002 Turbo produced 170 hp (127 kW) at 5,800 rpm, with 240 N·m (180 lb·ft) of torque. The 2002 Turbo used the 2002 tii engine with a KKK turbocharger and a compression ratio of 6.9:1 in order to prevent engine knocking. The 2002 Turbo was introduced just before the 1973 oil crisis, and 1,672 Turbos were built."

History
Overview:
"The BMW 2002 was first introduced in 1968, becoming the first ever sports sedan. For the first time, a practical car could be fun. The large trunk and 4 seat layout made the car practical, but the 2 liter engine and fantastic suspension made the car performance oriented at the same time. After the second World War, companies such as BMW were struggling to stay in business. When the 2002 was introduced, little did BMW know that they would sell over 800,000 units. In 1976, when 2002 produced was stopped, a car known as the 3-series would take its place, based off of the same sports sedan platform. Over 40 years later, these cars are still on the road and have achieved somewhat of a cult status."

"The year 1974 saw major changes in the 2002 series. In order to comply with U.S. Safety regulations, all 2002's were fitted with large impact bumpers and new square taillights. Other minor changes included new plastic grills, as well badging changes in the rear decklid. Interior changes were also minimal.
1974 also saw the production of the 2002 turbo. The 2002 turbo is considered to be the ultimate 2002, with large flares, and decals to match the performance of the 170 bhp turbocharged engine. This is the first time BMW experimented with turbocharging technology, and it was also the last for many years. Regardless, only 1671 were produced, and none were officially imported to the United States. Today, a 2002 turbo can fetch upwards of $60,000 in good condition."

Aston Martin DB5
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Aston Martin DB5 is a luxury grand tourer that was made by Aston Martin and designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. Released in 1963, it was an evolution of the final series of DB4. The DB series was named honouring David Brown (the head of Aston Martin from 1947–1972). Although not the first, the DB5 is famous for being the most recognised cinematic James Bond car, first appearing in Goldfinger (1964)."

BMW 8 Series (1989)
"(...) The BMW 850i presented at the 1989 International Motor Show in Frankfurt represented a demonstration of the Munich-based carmaker's development expertise, revealing not only a cutting-edge new design line but also an unparalleled array of technological details making their automotive debuts.
The design of the wedge-shaped body - headlined most strikingly by a long, swooping bonnet (housing retractable headlights), smooth lines, the absence of B-pillars and a steeply cut rear end - showcased the dynamics and grace of the new coupe with equal élan.
The BMW 850i, moreover, followed the BMW 750i luxury Sedan introduced two years earlier as the second post-war German car to be powered by a 12-cylinder engine.
The 5.0-litre unit developed 220 kW/300 hp and peak torque of 450 Newton metres (332 lb-ft) to propel the 1,790 kg 2+2-seater from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds.
Channelling the engine's power to the rear wheels was either a six-speed manual gearbox specially developed for the BMW 850i or a four-speed automatic, while its pioneering integral rear axle with five-link suspension was celebrating its premiere in the luxury Coupe. Automatic Stability Control plus Traction (ASC+T), speed-sensitive power steering and the Electronic Damper Control (EDC) system introduced as an option in spring 1990 were among the other details that helped give the BMW 8 Series its distinctive identity as a driving machine.
The motoring press heralded the BMW 850i as a "coupe of velvet and silk" and the "perfect symbiosis of power and comfort". After its first road test in the car, German car magazine "auto, motor und sport" wrote: "BMW has given the 850i all the high-tech weaponry it needs to take top spot." And turning its attentions to the chassis technology of the BMW 8 Series, "Auto Bild" magazine commented: "It needs to be experienced to be believed, preferably through high-speed corners on the motorway: bumps, expansion joints - shocks that are sure to trigger sudden jolts of adrenaline in other cars - leave the 850i driver totally unruffled."
(...)
"A second version of the 12-cylinder engine was added to the range for model year 1993.
With displacement increased to 5.6 litres, the engine imbued the flagship BMW 850 CSi model with 280 kW/381 hp and peak torque of 550 Newton metres (406 lb-ft)."

"Autumn 1994 witnessed a changing of the guard under the bonnet: the BMW 850 Ci was now powered by a 5.4-litre V12 engine with 240 kW/326 hp,"

American actor Sal Mineo (1939-1976) was a teen idol during the late 1950s. He shot to fame as Plato in the classic Rebel Without a Cause (Nicholas Ray, 1955) featuring James Dean. Diminutive and sad-eyed, his performance perfectly captured the film's themes of youthful desperation, and struck a chord with audiences as well as critics, earning him a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination. He co-starred again with Dean in Giant (George Stevens, 1956) and with Paul Newman in Somebody up There Likes Me (Robert Wise, 1956). In 1957, he scored a pair of Top 40 hits with Start Movin' (In My Direction) and Lasting Love. In 1959, Mineo starred as the titular jazz drummer in The Gene Krupa Story (Don Weis, 1959), and a year later earned a second Oscar nomination for Exodus (Otto Prerminger, 1960). Later he turned to television and the theatre. In 1969 he directed the gay-themed drama Fortune and Men's Eyes. One of his last screen appearances was as a monkey in Escape From the Planet of the Apes (Don Taylor, 1971). Mineo's life came to a tragic end on a night in 1976, when he was brutally stabbed on the streets of West Hollywood. He was only 37 years old.

Citroën Xsara Picasso
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Citroën Xsara Picasso was a 5-door compact MPV produced by Citroën from 1999 to 2010.
The model was facelifted in 2004 with modifications to the front and rear design, changing from black bumpers to colour-matched paint with bright-inserts and painted sidestrips, known as Picasso 2.
From 2007 a new shape was introduced, known as C4 Picasso.
At the time of its release, two trim levels were available, LX and SX, with a choice of three four-cylinder engines; a 1.6 and 1.8 litre petrols, and a 2.0 Litre HDI diesel engine, all shared with the smaller Citroën Xsara.
A new 1.6 HDI diesel version with improved fuel efficiency was launched as part of the revised range in 2004.
Later designations were 'Desire', 'VTR', and the range-topping 'Exclusive' trim level, some with electric glass sunroof, was introduced to the UK market in late 2000.
On all models, the front seat-backs have fold-down tables, and the rear seats can be removed to create extensive internal space for transportation of bulky items similar to a small van."

"The Picasso name was licensed from the family of Pablo Picasso, which created significant international publicity at the time of the car's launch as not all the Picasso family were happy with the association of the artist's name with a car when his granddaughter Marina attempted to sue her uncle Claude in 1999.
Pablo Picasso was originally linked with Citroën in the 1960s when he painted a Citroën DS with "The wreaths of Peace".
