A piece from my 2nd day of dying. I learned a technique for creating fairly consistent results and wanted to create some pieces that have the same designs in various colors.

Rework of yesterday's image. Flickr seems to have flattened the colours a bit - the local copy looks more vivid.

Rinsing out the excess dye once the bundles had fully oxidised.

These things are fat and durable, a secure way to hold 140 rounds of paint.

i think? reminder that i should head back to check it out. it was only a couple inches across when i took this, but perhaps it is big and read to dye with now.

I mixed two baby spoonfuls of dye with about 1 cup of warm water

as I'm typing, it's in this jar, and I'll rince it tonight.

as usual, I have dyed linen, silk, silk yarn, cotton crochet lace, and vintage + handmade cotton crochet mini doilies

Forgot this for 3 days but I'm happy with how it turned out.

For my secret pal. The light colored yarn is waste yarn that will be removed and discarded, leaving self-striping sock yarn
