Vanderbilt's observatory, built in the Brentwood Hills in 1953 under order of Carl Seyfert, who discovered galaxies with spectral line emissions that are named after him. The dome is made out of scrap metal from battleships.

Here are the red and black dye samples on the veneer. I use the Sherwin Williams dye. It is water, alcohol, and solvent compatible.

Just a little bit of dye migration on this wool rug from the company that cleaned it last. Luckily we were able to remove the red foreign dyes from the ivory

We boiled some eucalyptus leaves for about an hour, and then strained them, reserving the resulting liquid, and dividing it into five batches.
A man uses a long stick at the indigo dye pits. The depth of the pit determines how deep the color will be, how long the garment has to stay in the dye, and how long the stick is. This is one of the longest sticks for one of the deepest pits (it's around 2 meters deep).

My first time ever doing poodle feet/face and dying a poodle. It's a lot easier to dye a compliant dog (read: Bonaparte) but this didn't turn out too badly when you think about it. He looks really cute, although the deep blue isn't deep enough IMO so you really don't see a "fade". Oh well, next time.
