Looking east from Dyer Mountain, the trail up there was tough and not very obvious but the views were worth it.

fabric is layered up underneath, in a big concertina, and the dye seeps through but doesn't bleed unless you want it to depending on how you applied the glue/paste previously.

Heated solution to just under 120 F. The solution began to look a little less opaque.
Added 90 yd. skein of merino superwash yarn, 1 small silk scarf, and sample dye card.
Woohoo! I could see some yellow and blue happening where the silk scarf wouldn't stay under the water.

My first time ever doing poodle feet/face and dying a poodle. It's a lot easier to dye a compliant dog (read: Bonaparte) but this didn't turn out too badly when you think about it. He looks really cute, although the deep blue isn't deep enough IMO so you really don't see a "fade". Oh well, next time.
