My good friend took me along on a transport job. We rode from Oconee with a load to Below 16 to dump and get a new load. It was interesting to see the the highway from this point of view. My friend say that the wind cold blow a truck over with the dump in this position. After riding all day in the truck, getting into my jeep felt like a luxury car mixed with a gocart.
Thanks For the ride Bro!
Protester Michael Miller, right, argues with a Donald Trump supporter indentified only as Keith at the Macy's Herald Square store in New York Tuesday Nov. 20, 2012. The event was organized by Angelo Carusone to protest Macy's selling of the Donald Trump clothing line as some feel Tump's comments on President Obama and his reelection to be abrasive and believe Trump is beneffiting from his rhetoric. The narrow bank between the canal and the River Severn to the north of the Severn Railway Bridge has long been used as a graveyard for old barges, with the aim of protecting the bank from erosion by the strong currents in the river.
Dumping Barges
The first barges were dumped on the bank in 1909 when it was realised that a new channel was developing near to the shore, and further craft were added at intervals up to the early 1970s. Each vessel was taken out of Sharpness Dock on a high spring tide, towed by a tug towards the shore and released so that it charged up the bank as far as possible. Then holes were knocked in the hull to allow subsequent tides to deposit silt inside
A massive 60 shot upload to keep you all occupied for the next week or so whilst I nip out and take a few more shots.
Please pace yourself, I don't want any complains of Repetative Shot Syndrome...
I'll be adding individual titles and details of what you are looking at (assuming you are bothering to look) as and when I get time. Although I'm not always sure what I'm looking at as, despite several visits to Skye over the years, this is the first time I've actually managed to see the view!
My semiannual trip to the dump turns smelly. After 10, 50 lb bags of wet Magnolia leaves, I had had enough. I put on my mask and said, "We're going to the dump!" Upon arriving at the landfill, I unloaded our Mack 425 Dump Truck. As I looked over the grime I spotted downtown Lynchburg with a haze looming over it. After everything was dumped, I headed home.
(If you look closely in the picture you can see the downtown Lynchburg right behind that pole to my left with a haze over it)
