Just messing around with a shot & inspired (heavily) from some of the shots Avanaut has done.
The text is non-sense but took ages to come up with.
Sadly, Lego hasn't come out with one of these guys yet. I made this in part because of this, but also because they are my younger sister's favorite droids (she calls them "can droids") :P I think she thinks they're cute or something. Anyway, What do you think? Improvements?

There's rumors swirling around that afrika may have passed. If true, my condolences to his friends and family.

Nah, Bondi 2013 (Bushfire Skies)
I dont generally like posting continuous photos of one particular day. However, I've just experienced the most epic and unique bushfire induced skies over Bondi in the last hour. This is a 15 photo series to document it.
I'm sure most of you feel the same way that I do about the official LEGO design for the Separatist Buzz Droid. They range from being laughingly awful (*shudders* the one with the battle droid legs still haunts my dreams) to simply being too cumbersome and not really in line with minifigure proportions.
So, as I was cleaning my Star Wars collection, I devoted some time to redesigning my two Buzz Droids before putting them on display. What started out as a simple swapping out of a few parts lead to a complete re-imagining. I've seen other great Buzz Droid MOCs, but many of them are flimsy and don't have a lot of playability. These little guys hold up well and are pretty posable.
As always, feed back is encouraged. :D
Introducing the Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid, Mark I... that's way too long, we're just gonna go with Vulture Droid. First seen in Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace and now available through BrickVault!

Those are some minifig-scaled StarCraft-ish spacemarines and some droids inspired by Chris for you to enjoy! Different frames, different types of limited articulation... TLG should really consider adding minifig legs and hands as separate parts in LDD
I set myself the challenge of making a completely brick built tri-fighter. There are parts that exist that can be used to provide some extra details, but I like the challenge of replicating the effect in bricks.
I’ve always had a soft spot for this model- I was always quite impressed with the 2005 version that used the click hinges to create the semi-circular ‘wings’ which seemed quite unconventional back then. LEGO traditionally includes a buzz droid minifig with their version, so in that spirit, I asked MisterShramp if he could design a buzz droid to accompany my design. And he really stepped up to the challenge!
I originally thought about using bionicle shoulder armour parts to create the central sphere, but I settled on this design after experimenting with a number of other spherical parts.
The next challenge was to find suitable parts to recreate the semi-circular wings. I went through a number of different ideas- but many of the parts I could find didn’t have the right radius to match the original design. In the end I used bricks with studs on 4 sides with a rigid hose through the middle. The curved tiles help maintain the shape.
After tackling those two challenges, all the other details were pretty intuitive, and the build is surprisingly sturdy too.
The colour scheme also went through a few revisions. Each illustration/ concept art/ scale model I could find had some variation of blue and grey. In the end I went for this pretty subtle pattern. Any thing busier tended to draw attention to the (unavoidable) gaps in the construction of the semi-circles.
Check out MisterShramp's flickr
and instagram if you haven't already- he's got a bunch of really interesting ideas and instructions for his builds too!
So after looking at Zeessi's awesome 'Fat Boy and Slim' droids, I was inspired to make something similar. Using (pretty much) his torso, I went to work designing my own version. :D
CIS Heavy Droid
Class: Soldier
The CIS Heavy Droid Soldier; despite its slightly Faun-like appearance, the Heavy Soldier is not to be underestimated. Built to be the best, it easily outranks almost any other droid in the CIS army. Its cognitive abilities far surpass both the standard Battle Droid as well as the Super Battle Droid, but its abilities rival even the Commando and Assassin Droids'. Their armor is thicker than all the rest, and they have been equipped with only the best, most technologically advanced weaponry out there.
These droids are not to be trifled with!

My custom UCS scale Octuptarra droid is finished! As featured in Blocks Magazine this massive MOC is built at minifigure scale out of 1,329 parts (+ minifigures).

all those letters together spelled - DROIDS ARMY!
this is just the ARMY! part of the whole production.
Probe droids (also known as probots or recon droids) were droids that were specifically designed and programmed to perform reconnaissance duties. These units were often dispatched by various space navies to gather information from a variety of different locations, reporting anything of significance as defined by specific preprogrammed protocols.

R2D2 whittled by younger child for me for Mother's Day 2022. He told me he was trying to think of things I liked and that he remembered that I always was happy when R2D2 appeared in whatever Star Wars show/movie we were watching, so he decided to whittle me my own R2D2.

Sorry for the long silence. Here is something from me again at last! ;D
I built this modell about a year ago in one day! It was meant to be part of a big Kashyyyk-MOC but that was taken apart before completion last summer.
However, I figured it would be nice to post this Gunship as it is. The studs for the water were bought for that MOC specially and now at least serve the purpose of presenting this small modell. ;)
There is not much playability to this ship as it was made for display.
Opinions are always very welcome!!
After work today I went to buy a new comforter set for my bedroom and on the way home was this magnificent sunset....of course I failed to have my Canon with me. Luckily, I had my Droid.
I thought this turned out well. The original shot was a bit too bright, so I adjusted it in PhotoShop Elements 7. I think this was more how it looked at the time it was taken.
