What kind of droid are you?

Primitive version.

Quite proud that it's 100% in camera. Both minifigs had carefully implanted LEDs.

'Droid' as a mailbox!

Droid: noun informal

1. shortened version of “Android”

Android: noun

1. an automaton in the form of a human being;

2. (in science fiction) a robot resembling a human being;

3. resembling a human being;

4. trademark - a software package for smartphones, including many application programs; a smartphone that uses this software.

These aren't the droids you're looking for

Some of my favorite Lego minifigures these robots from the Vidiyo line. The line didn’t last too long, but had so many cool prints designs and figures.

Not to be confused with Purple Ray.

A violet ray is an antique medical appliance used during the early 20th century to discharge in electrotherapy. Their construction usually featured a disruptive discharge coil with an interrupter to apply a high voltage, high frequency, low current to the human body for therapeutic purposes.

Nikola Tesla introduced his first prototype violet ray at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893.

A typical violet ray device consisted of an ungrounded, electrical control box that controlled the interrupter and housed the magneto coil, and an attached bakelite or other handle housing which contained the high voltage coil and an insertion port for attachments. Glass, evacuated tubes of varying shapes and for different therapeutic uses could be inserted into the bakelite handle to apply the resulting current to different parts of the body.

Violet ray treatments were said to cure everything from lower back pain to carbuncles. From an antique Master Violet Ray manual c. 1920 comes this treatment advice:

Brain Fog - Use Applicator No. I over forehead and eyes. Also treat the back of head and neck with strong current in direct contact with the skin. Treat the spine and hold the electrode in the hand. Ozone inhalations for about four minutes are also of importance.

Catarrh, Nasal - In this condition the Nasal Tube is used within the nose with a mild current within the nasal passage, two to five minutes on each side, followed by an application with the Surface Electrode externally over the area of the nose. Use Ozone Generator.

Hey everyone! Here's my next 12x12 Star Wars vig, this time based on the droid factory in episode II! This was made for the Blocks Magazine. Be looking for the next (and worst in my opinion XD) vig in a couple days!

All glory to my Savior Jesus Christ!

The backside of my recent vignette. Finally I get a chance to use all those droids in a build or rather parts of them...

I finally got the old computer fixed, so I'm back for good. If you need to talk to me about anything, FM me or get on Skype.

Thanks for all the support while I was gone!

Oh, and this is my representation of a poseable Assassin Droid.

The idea of the infinite is the rudder and compass sure amid this troublous voyage, o’er darkest, wildest wave, through stormiest wind, of man’s or nation’s progress,

Whoso dilates to the idea of the infinite holds the clue of all grandeur, as all meaning.

It's a really weird and unsettling feeling knowing that in 24 hours the photo you just took will be gone. Love or hate the marketing speak, and as corny as it sounds, it does make you think about the permanence of film, memory, etc.

87 seconds, no editing ...

Buzz Droid from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The ball canopies are a bit undersized, but it was a bit too late for me to get anything bigger or to pivot to a different idea. Not my best work, had trouble finding something I really wanted to build this round, but it came out okay in the end.

Polaroid Week Day 4

This is the Polaroid 600 version of a Fade to Black photo I took a long time ago... in a galaxy far far...

I'm trying to accept the pole as a subject. Although these aren't poles but droids, as pointed out by the inhabitant.

Droidekas, or destroyer droids are one of my favourite SW designs and I wanted to capture their look in a small, minifigure-sized scale.

The force field is not included! 😁

While enduring the long flight home from vacation, we passed some huge thunderheads while going through Texas airspace. Their beauty inspired me to pick up my droid phone and snap a few pics.

While originally happy with the usual beautiful cloud formation from this point of view, I started to play with the picture in the PicSay Pro app. Once I applied the mirror effect, I was shocked to see a very convincing nuclear mushroom cloud. Wow...

I further tweaked color, saturation, temperature, and some other things to end up with this rather morbid interpretation of what started out as a beautiful picture of a cloud.

I cleaned up the noise and some artifacting in Lightroom to finish it.

Recognizing the need for security, Odge ventured into Hweg Shul to the local droid merchant. Though there were many astro-mechs to choose from, an extra set of eyes is what Odge needed, so a protocol droid was what appealed to Odge.

With only a few to choose from, Odge conversed with a TC unit who seemed rather alert and much less uppity than a 3PO-series droid. TC-33 agreed to come to the A-wing build and assist.

I wasn't planning on building anything for May 4th but after seeing all the amazing art people where posting for Star Wars day, I couldn’t help myself.

This droid has been on my to-do list for quite some time. They appear in the video game Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order as enemy hired by the imperial inquisitor to hunt down Jedi Kal Kestis (it also appeared in The Force Awakens outside Maz Kanata's Castle).

They are originally used for loading cargo but these units have been reprogrammed and modified by the Haxion Brood crime syndicate for bounty hunting work.
