We were in the midst of intense monsoons which make long alpine hikes dangerous. However, Shyla and I were dreaming of a hike up near our local glacier. We did get our dream, about a week later.

These photos are dedicated to the delicacy and beauty of friendships and the sharing of our visions. Since becoming involved with Flickr, I've had the pleasure of getting to know people from different parts of the world. Some of you quite well, and some as casual contacts. Being retired, I probably spend more time on Flickr than the average person. But when I see new images posted by my friends, it always makes me feel better.
Several recent posts have been quite thought provoking. I probably write too much in some of my comments, but I just can't help myself. I hope you don't mind. I value these friendships more than words can express.

A bit more literal visual interpretation, this time of Genesis 37:9.

inspired by childhood dream of a spooky barn boatride featuring animatronic and costumed characters loosely themed on 70s vintage fast food motifs.
I should mention that this was not a nightmare, but a thoroughly fun child's dream where we were riding through a spooky barn on boats and being served hamburgers, fries, shakes and other common fast food items.
One of the earliest dreams I can recall.
Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.

This is my very talented friend Stephanie. She does have so many dreams. That's what makes us friends. :-)

I have lots of dreams. Here are a few of them.
I still have one movie left in me that I'd like to make. It's a love story with bicycles and a bakery.
I want to travel to every continent.
I want to write books.
I want to live in Indonesia for a year and do yoga and surf.
I want to have a stationery shop.
I want to have a coffee shop attached to my stationery shop.
I want to open a boutique hotel. I want to fill it regularly with my friends and feed them. There is an old motel in Gloucester that I have wanted to buy forever. But I think Southern Japan would be better. Okinawa or Kyushu. How about both? Can I have both? Most of the year in Japan, summers in Massachusetts.
That sounds good.
Maybe my dream is to not have so many dreams.

A little sanctuary.
I'm dreaming I'll sleep well tonight. I have been dealing with "frozen shoulder." I've put off going to the Dr. for a year, and recently went so now I'm in therapy for several weeks. I'm sitting here at the computer with a moist-heating pad on my shoulder. In a few minutes my husband will help me do my therapy. It's not too pleasant, but I'm thinking... no pain, no gain. I do manage to take photos but I have to carry my bag on the other shoulder and can't lift my arm over my head. Hopefully therapy will work wonders and I'll be good as new soon.
