IT'S a bleak, 'wintry mix' kind of day in Philadelphia, so I wanted to post something sunny.
This is historic Rittenhousetown, Philadelphia:
"Historic Rittenhouse Town is a site composed of several houses on thirty acres of Fairmount Park. It is the site of the Rittenhouse Homestead, the site of the first paper mill in America and the home of generations of Rittenhouses. William Rittenhouse (then Wilhelm Rittenhausen) arrived in 1690 from Holland and was the first of the name in Pennsylvania. William established the paper mill which was continued by generations of his family. Later other mills were established along the Wissahickon Creek, downstream from the Rittenhouse Mill on Monoshone Creek."

The Dreaming. A very small glimpse of the land we call home.
(Hey, look! Clothes and no pink. It's a miracle!)
A bit more tinkering from this evening this time with the dome. Did the dome first, changed camera position and coloured myself in. Wish I'd remembered to make the bed after the dome as it looks like I go to sleep fully clothed and without pillows or a duvet. Bet Ray Mears sleeps like this when he's not kipping in his garden.
Nice 1.
"All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible." -

'Dream' is a 20 meter tall sculpture which stands on the site of the old Sutton Manor Colliery, near St Helens. Designed by Spanish Artist Jaume Plensa, it depicts the head of a young woman with her eyes closed in meditation. The sculpture faces due South, following the direction of the coal seam. It was cast from concrete and Dolomite marble and was officially unveiled on 31st May 2009.

The forest itself had a kind of dream-like quality, like I expected to find a spirit animal around who would tell me where to go after I left my job. It never came. Or, if it did, I don't remember.
Anyways, I'm soon going to the northern forests of what is now known as "Queensland" to find an old man named "Weegeegong," who I will provide with six conch shells of varying sizes. Wish me luck.

Today, I'm revisiting all my dreams, tick off those that have been realized and make new ones.

MISSING ITEMS: Bed, canopy, pillow
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I got this bedding in a small $8 lot at the flea market on opening day 2018. I had a hunch that these two items went together. Although the polka dot lace threw me off a bit, I had a feeling it was some sort of bed skirt, and since it features a metal snap, I was certain it was more than likely authentic Barbie. Admittedly, I did not pay the pink blanket much mind until it was done being laundered. I noticed that it had a really awesome old school Barbie decal on it, which made me very intent on identifying it. Were it not for the bed skirt, I don't know that I would have figured out the mystery of the blanket (at least not so soon). This pink blanket is meant to be the under layer of the bed set. There is a much plushier looking comforter that goes on top. But luckily there were several sellers on eBay with loose, but mostly complete bed sets, which is how I was able to confirm that this blanket was indeed sold with the Dream Glow Bed. I'd love to have the comforter/matching pillow one day as well--they look like they are awesome quality! For some reason I always find bedding and pillows to doll bed sets, but never the beds themselves.
Oooh! I got 5 pair of new socks this week....my first order from Sock Dreams.
I got some pink military ones that are warm and cozy.
I got these stripey OTK ones...they're nice but not a lot of elasticity...by the end of the day they were slouching and all...not quite what I was looking for but they're warm and I like 'em anyway :-)
EDIT: Pair #3, black and thick and lovely....need sock garters or something stupid to keep them up...they kept falling down all night at work...can't figure them out but am not too happy.
