This chicks hair I dreaded, 20 fucking hours over a 3 day period to do this!

Her hair was down to her ass before these believe it or not.

There were lots of dreads to be seen at this Capoeira event in Des Moines.

Lots of goodies sent to me from Anathea in our first "Dreaded Together" exchange.

A bit of a boating theme. This is a wharf at Oulton, I liked the old wood and the rippled reflections.

I was making pizza the other day and decided to put my hair up in a loose bun and was able to twist it the way the sadhus wear there jatta. That is what they call their locks.

Haven't trimmed them in ages, they're starting to feel heavy. :-)

I realized tonight that it's been awhile since I've posted any photos of how my dreads are coming along. Well, here they are. I dyed them last night. Now I have red hair again. I don't know that I wanted red hair. But it's ok. I might like it. Let's see, I started them in March...so that means they're almost six months old. They're loopy and messy, and I usually tie them in knots so I don't have to worry about them. Despite all of that, I am really happy that I did it.

Mary Judah has been after me for a few weeks to put her hair in dreads. We did it yesterday and she looks AWESOME!

Just hit my 2-year dreadiversary! *dances*

Despite not doing any palmrolling, crocheting or "maintenance", I have ended up with very straight & mostly non-textured dreads. I'm a little sad about that, because I love the loops and squiggles and zig-zags that so many dreadheads have! But I do have a few thin squiggly dreads (will try to take close-ups soon) and I adore those so much. If I ever start another set, I think I'd like thinner dreads. But for now, I love this set just the way they are! ♥

(Started June 2008 by backcombing. No wax or products have touched this set, YAY.)

My Dreadlocks at 18 months. They started by themselves when I was 6 months pregnant with my son Grover, I've been working on them slowley!
