I've been experimenting with making polymerclay dreadlock beads.

So, these are my new baby dreads. I am so in love it's just mind blowing. I asked the dreadie artists to try an experiment and only dread halfway down the hair - they were super pleased with the result, having never done a set like that before, and i was super duper pleased. I love them so much - and I haven't lost any length, and still have the part of my hair I love the most - my flowy ends!

I *heart* my dreads. I'm beginning to wear them down more often; trying not to be self-conscious. It's getting easier...except when old ladies stare at me. And they say the younger generations have no manners!

I kind of unexpectedly have a week off of work. No, I didn't get fired or anything. My boss just doesn't need me this week for various reasons.

It's odd how much I crave free time when I'm going through a normal week of work/school/tutoring/Boo. But then on the weeks when at least half of those things aren't taking up my time, I get somewhat bored and lonely.

Anyway, at least I've been able to attempt some new creative projects. That thing in the picture will soon be a new hat.

All of these tips have naturally rounded themselves out. There is a lot of new growth in there too...but they are coming along nicely!

Wrapped...ponytailed...and tied in knots.

so i figured out what my hold up was with taking pictures. after sitting down and thinking, why have i just stopped and have no desire to snap a shot of all things anymore? I figured out that i got overwhelmed. With photoshop that is. Its silly i know but i have a pretty low grade camera. my mom gave it to me, its wonderful that i have one and i can make some great pictures out of it, but i dream of bigger better ones to click away with. so i spend all of this time in photoshop, correcting every picture as if its from a canon rebel. Then the pictures started to pile up and i got far far far behind. Instead of posting them, they sit in my computers folders waiting to be "edited". I didn't want people to see that magically my pictures dont naturally come out with funky orders and contrasted black and whites!

haha. i also was overwhelmed with what i am going to do with ALL of these pictures i have taken. I now have a goal. To section them in years. For 2007 i will get a great photo album that holds 400 pictures. then my husband and i will go through and pick out the very best pictures that we love from that year and get them developed. Then label that album 2007. I will do it like that every year so that they will be neat, great and looked at.

as for the editing, i plan to only edit the ones that i love, the rest are reality.

my other goal is to take at least one picture a day to upload until i get back into the groove of things.

i love my flickr. friends!

I made this dreadlock holder out of an old t-shirt. Works perfectly for keeping my dreads up for the summer.
