Europe - Scandinavia - Norway - North of the Arctic Circle - Lofoten Island - Moskenes - Hamnoy - Hamnøy - Picturesque fishing village under fresh cover of snow during pink sunset
Guilty as charged - one of the most photographed locations on Lofoten, but I simply could not help myself, because if there is A place to stay in Lofoten, it surely must be these cabins which might look like those traditional fisherman cabins from outside... but they are no longer anything like that inside. Wonderful interior, very different from when we stayed there 10 years ago.

I previously posted a colored version of this same angle but a different long exposure. I figured it was worth going back and doing one silver and black from the rest of the lot. I went back and forth with this one and another exposure. At the end of the day this one was more striking, so I went with it. This is Boston's best skyscraper in my opinion, we could use a couple more like it.

A girl stands calmly beneath an umbrella as glowing steel wool sparks rain down in this dramatic long exposure shot, taken in front of an old abandoned fire truck.
We were out photographing and we were walking in the city Xanten, suddenly out of nowhere this leaf fell on the ground and it just lay there. I grabbed my camera and shot the leaf, this is a once in the leaf lifetime opportunity.
A monochrome portrait suspended between glow and shadow — the subject leaning into a window’s soft mercy while the darker room pulls at the edges. The light traces the cheekbone like a memory trying to return, while the curtain breathes its own quiet story. This is a moment of stillness that feels like a threshold: half confession, half invocation. A study in contrast, vulnerability, and the quiet power of being seen without armor.
I.
The window keeps its vigil, patient as an old friend,
letting the morning spill its truth across my face.
Shadow gathers behind me like a history I’ve outgrown,
yet still I lean toward the light, unafraid of its naming.
II.
Some rooms hold their breath when you enter,
as if waiting for the version of you that never arrived.
But here, the silence feels earned,
a soft throne carved from the ache of becoming.
III.
I tilt my head toward the brightness,
letting it map the terrain of my unspoken thoughts.
Every highlight a confession,
every shadow a promise I haven’t broken yet.
IV.
The curtain whispers its thin voiced blessing,
a veil between what I was and what I’m willing to claim.
Even the dust seems to rise in reverence,
catching the light like tiny, wandering saints.
V.
There is a tenderness in leaning,
in letting the world hold you without resistance.
The window frame becomes a quiet altar,
and I, a pilgrim of my own unfolding.
VI.
The dark behind me is not an enemy,
only the echo of rooms I’ve already survived.
It clings out of habit, not hunger,
and I no longer mistake its weight for destiny.
VII.
Light sketches me with deliberate hands,
as if sculpting a future I haven’t dared to imagine.
I feel the shape of myself returning,
slow, steady, sovereign.
VIII.
So I stay here, between glow and shadow,
letting both claim their rightful place.
For this is the portrait of a life in transition—
a face learning to remember its own radiance.

A torrential downpour produced by Storm Atiyah moves down Teesdale, completely obscuring Middleton-in-Teesdale from the view from Whistle Crag. The sun over Lunedale has not yet been obscured and provides foregorund illumination. 8 December 2019
Sur scène, rien n'est jamais tout à fait ce qu'il semble être. Une tête brandie comme un trophée, un geste suspendu, un visage figé entre surprise et autorité. Tout paraît étrangement sérieux, presque dramatique, jusqu'à ce que l'on se souvienne qu'il s'agit d'un spectacle pour enfants.
C'est peut-être cela, la beauté du théâtre : pendant quelques minutes, même les choses les plus improbables méritent d'être prises au sérieux. Car pour faire croire les enfants, il faut d'abord y croire soi-même.
EN On the stage, nothing is ever quite what it seems. A head held high, a gesture suspended, a face frozen between surprise and command. Everything appears strangely serious, almost dramatic, until we remember that this is a children's show. Perhaps that is the beauty of theatre: for a few minutes, even the most improbable things deserve to be taken seriously. Because to make children believe, you first have to believe yourself.
This is the chezz feeling
a whisper from my uncle’s voice,
etched in quiet lessons of foresight.
He taught me to think before I move,
because in two or twenty turns,
the board reshapes,
life complicates,
and what matters isn't just the move,
but the soul behind it.
In this picture
an eye, caught in check,
like fate staring back
from the corner of a square,
reminding me that
to live well is to play wisely.

As it seems that not only the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon itself is very photogenic, but also its surrounding. As I was heading for the sunset to the lagoon, I noticed wonderful and absolutely still reflection in one of those small ponds that are along the road towards the lagoon. Who would not stop for scene like this.

i watched him through the quiet pulse of the christmas market in valencia, where lights hung low and laughter flickered like fire. he sat alone, cloaked in a heavy hood and the evening’s chill, his brush dancing delicately across the canvas. the world blurred around him—soft hands and loud steps—but he stayed, focused, lost in his craft. each line he painted seemed carved from his soul, a quiet language of patience and purpose. the scarf curled at his neck like a tether to earth, but his mind drifted elsewhere, where tiny art could bloom unnoticed, untouched.
his hands told stories the crowd would never hear, and in the faint glow of lamps, i froze time.

It was a very dark and rainy week. The sun was nowhere to be found...for days. Clouds and overcast weather systems rolled by endlessly, with hardly any color in the sky at all. We were blanketed by a low cloud-covered ceiling. It was a very good opportunity to do some black and white images with some textures and moody feeling. What else was I going to do? I didn't need my sunglasses and there was no glare...anywhere. I had to "time it" between the constant showers that were all over the place. It was gloomy and different...yet still fun. The sun will come out tomorrow.

The sky is gray, the wind is strong… Yet for the seagulls, every moment is a new gateway to freedom. On this moody day, with Istanbul’s silhouette fading into the distance, the sound of wings rises above the city's chaos, embarking on an endless journey.
This frame captures the meeting point of motion and stillness: the soaring seagulls and the ever-moving, timeless city in the background. Sometimes, freedom is simply the ability to spread your wings.

The dunes of Erg Chebbi are a magical destination, full of magnetism and mystery with easy access for all travelers. If you want to visit Morocco, this jewel of the Sahara is a place not to be missed. The Dunes of Erg Chebbi are a unique natural spectacle, where giant sand dunes stand up in the middle of the dark volcanic cobalt plateaus of Sahara Desert.
The legend of Erg Chebbi / Merzouga tells that the largest sand dunes in Morocco appeared as a punishment from God to wealthy families who refused to accept a poor woman with her son at a party while they were washing hands with milk and playing with balls of couscous. These people were then buried by sand storms and strong winds that formed large dunes with the highest measure of around 160 meters above sea level.
Morocco and especially Sahara desert with its very dark skies is perfect for seeing and also capturing the night sky with the glorious Milky Way. The sky in the desert is wonderfully dark with minimum light pollution, which gives a great sight, which you can also see in the :
