Musician figures made from nails, and lit by a desk lamp. This is just something I noticed rather than set up. The figures stand on electric cable trunking at the back of my desk. I just saw the interesting shadows, which I must have seen every day for a long time. I’ll confess to just spacing them out a little for the photo, to reveal the shadows a little more, but I didn’t move the lamp or change the scene in any other way.

On my walk around town the other day I saw this small tree jutting out over the river with its fresh spring growth of leaves. What made it stand out was the sunlight hitting it which was quite dramatic against the dark waters of the river below. I am always amazed at how plant life, and especially in this case a small tree, can grow out of a rock wall.
