What is Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy?

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is a non-invasive cancer therapy that is increasing the length and quality of life in patients with stage 1 to stage 4 cancer. PEMF therapy brings health benefits to treated patients by enhancing the patient’s prognosis and increasing effectiveness of conventional cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy and reducing drug dosage. Pulsed electromagnetic therapy is an approved therapy for brain cancer in the US. Many other cancers have been shown to be effectively treated by PEMF as well. PEMF as well also treats many symptoms experienced by cancer patients, including pain and swelling (lymphedema). We have treated many cancer patients using high gauss Health Canada approved PEMF devices at our cancer clinic with great success.

Pulsed electromagnetic field devices provide both magnetic and electrical stimulation that is pulsed onto the affected area of the human body for several minutes. The duration and intensity of PEMF therapy are individualized on a case-to-case basis. Our clinic uses high powered PEMF units that are able to deliver very strong pulsed electrical fields so treatment time is at a minimum.

How Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy Works

Pulsed electromagnetic fields induce multiple mechanisms within the affected area of the body that work to eliminate cancer cells either individually or in conjunction with conventional cancer therapies.

The side of the body closest to the pulsed electromagnetic field device will get the highest amount of nerve stimulation and magnetic exposure because the intensity of the field decreases as it moves through tissue.

How Has Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy Been Tested?

Numerous studies using pulsed electromagnetic field therapy on human cancers have provided promising results which led to human therapy development. The findings regarding PEMF therapy use on human cancers are noted:

Magnetic fields enhance chemotherapy effectiveness

Colon and breast cancer tumour growth is inhibited

Inhibited lung metastasis in breast cancer

PEMF influences free radicals, which influence cancer

No harm to normal cells is found

Tumour metastasis is reduced

Ability to affect advanced and early tumours

Early death of breast cancer cells results from increased mitochondrial activity

Reduced blood flow to tumours, which is the nutrient source for growing tumours

Increases some cancer cells susceptibility to radiation and chemotherapy agents

In a study of 151 cancer patients with either stomach, lung, or breast cancer, lymphoma or melanoma, medium-intensity PEMFs were used on the patient’s whole body. Fifty-two patients received PEMF therapy preoperatively and 50 of them reported pain relief and improved appetite with no adverse side effects.

Forty-seven patients received PEMF therapy days after surgery which was noted to provide pain relief and decrease weakness. Lymphedema, the buildup of lymph fluid in tissue, was seen in the arm of 19 patients post mastectomy. Compression therapy combined with PEMF therapy completely eradicated lymphedema. PEMF therapy helped improve recovery in 31 patients with stomach cancer. These patients had reduced stomach acid, improved white blood cell count and immune function. Followup with these patients saw that only two had metastases post-operatively. The study was able to show that whole-body PEMF therapy has a positive effect on cancers in patients pre- and post-operatively.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy and Specific Types of Cancer

Cancer is a leading cause of death in Canada with few being treatable past stage 2. PEMF therapy and other advanced natural therapies, alongside the expertise of naturopathic doctors who focus on cancer therapy, is working to change that statistic. PEMF therapy is best used in conjunction with other cancer therapies as a safe and beneficial method to rid cancerous growths and reduce negative consequences of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

Breast Cancer

A study on 73 women with breast cancer (stage 1 to 3) provides results that show PEMF therapy, used in combination with conventional therapy, can improve outcomes. The study concludes that the use of PEMF therapy in conjunction with radiation before tumour removal helps maintain cellular immunity, lymphocyte count and hormone production.

Surgery causes oxidative stress to the body, but PEMFs were able to reduce the damage. Women were followed-up post-surgery and those without PEMF therapy had appearances of metastases; however, in the group with PEMF therapy, only 8 per cent of women saw metastases. PEMFs did not have adverse side effects in patients.

Another study analyzed the use of PEMFs for 60 minutes per day on 20 women with stage 1 or 3 breast cancer. Tumour samples were extracted during surgery. Results revealed cancerous cell death and stunted tumour development.

A group of women with stage 3 breast cancer were given medium-intensity PEMF therapy before radiation. X-ray machines were used after treatment to identify alterations in the tumour and lymph nodes in the area. It was found that the PEMF-treated patients had better tumour arrest than those without PEMFs. Just over 40 per cent of the PEMF-treated patients had total tumour regression and almost half had partial tumour regression. Post-surgery biopsies also found greater tumour damage in PEMF-treated patients than those without PEMF therapy.

A common problem after a mastectomy is improper lymph drainage which can delay recuperation for the patient. When PEMF was used, drainage time decreased from 13 days to only eight. PEMF wellness devices are beneficial for the patient’s recovery and allow them to be discharged from the hospital sooner so they can continue to heal in the comfort of their own home.

Liver Cancer

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an advanced liver cancer that has limited treatment options. Due to impaired liver function, many people with HCC cannot endure intrahepatic treatment or chemotherapy. Evidence has shown that low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields alter the growth of liver cancer cells and is well tolerated by patients and no side effects were seen.

Lung Cancer

Research from study including 20 patients with lung cancer who were treated before surgery using PEMF therapy showed that lung tumour tissue was more responsive to cancer treatment via desirable changes to lung cancer cells, showing PEMF has an anti-tumour effect on lung cancer tissue. Results were noticeable in patients after about 25 sessions. Adenocarcinomas, a fairly aggressive cancer that makes up 40% of all lung cancers, reacted most sensitively to PEMF therapy.

Oropharyngeal (Head and Neck) Cancers

Radiation and surgery are the mainstays of head and neck cancers and can be disfiguring and cause disabilities. Help for these side-effects can be helped with the use of PEMF. In small studies, PEMF devices were shown to promote better tongue mobility, speech improvements, chronic pain relief and a softer tongue consistency in patients with squamous cell cancer of the tongue. PEMF therapy was given to patients for seven weeks before surgery which resulted in surgery needing to be less invasive. Biopsies of the tissue could not identify any tumour cells after PEMF therapy was provided. After these successful encounters, 11 more patients were treated with PEMF before radiation and chemotherapy. PEMFs were found to increase tolerance to these conventional treatments and minimized skin and mucous membrane alterations.

Treatment and operations for cancer of the larynx are typically followed by inflammation of the larynx and trachea. PEMF therapy was shown to reduce inflammation in 65 per cent of patients in the study and reduce swelling induced by radiation.

Ovarian Cancer

Five patients with stage 4 ovarian cancer received PEMF therapy 20 minutes per day for two weeks alongside chemotherapy. PEMFs were successful in reducing instances of nausea, loss of appetite and weakness which are common side effects of chemotherapy without interfering with chemo.

Stomach Cancer

A study involving 18 patients with precancerous tissue and peptic ulcers were given whole-body PEMFs for 15 sessions at 20 minutes each. Post-treatment evaluation revealed a pain relief effect and found 14 patients had full ulcer healing while only four individuals had no change. PEMFs increase the number of T-lymphocytes that help reduce inflammation. This immunomodulating effect is beneficial to patients with stomach cancer while they receive conventional cancer treatments. Extended PEMF treatment could show widespread changes in pathologies.

Stage 4 Cancer

Advanced cancer, such as stage 4 cancer, could benefit from PEMF therapy as it has the capability of extending the life of patients without negative side effects. High-intensity or high-gauss PEMF devices would need to be used for this purpose.

Some advanced cancers cannot be treated with conventional therapies such as chemotherapy and radiation. In one study, a total of 74 patients had various stage 4 cancer and were treated with PEMFs for one hour, three times per day. Followup included X-ray machines, MRI, CT, and quality-of-life evaluation. No clear tumour response was seen in any of the patients, however, severe chronic pain from tumour growth was relieved via PEMFs and reported quality of life increased.

High-intensity PEMF therapy (400mT) was used in 137 patients for two hours per day for an average of 40 days. Sixty per cent of the advanced cancer patients benefited from the therapy and their lives, in many cases, were prolonged.

Metastatic Cancer to the Brain

Here, PEMF therapy was paired with radiotherapy to study its effect on metastatic cancer to the brain considered inoperable. In this study, radiation every 48 hours was followed with 12 hours of PEMF exposure. Thirteen patients who experienced this combination treatment were followed-up by evaluation of the metastasis. Eight patients had partial remission and two patients had complete remission of their cancer. No negative side effects were noted. The study shows how PEMF therapy can be used after radiation to improve desired outcomes of metastatic remission in the brain.

PEMF Therapy Decreases Chemotherapy Complications

Patients commonly report complications from chemotherapy. PEMF is useful for reducing the amount of time it takes to heal after chemotherapy. PEMF can mitigate the local injury that results from an intravenous chemotherapy injection, such as inflammation, clot formation, and hardened veins.

Breast cancer cells were exposed to both PEMFs and various chemotherapy agents. This exposure caused additional decreases in cancerous mitochondrial activity compared to chemotherapy alone. With decreased mitochondrial activity, cancer cells are unable to carry out functions related to growth and metastases.

PEMF Therapy Decreases Radiation Complications

The use of PEMF therapy prior to radiation can increase cancer cell sensitivity to the conventional treatment. Amazingly, PEMFs do not subject the surrounding normal cells to radiation damage and may preserve regular function of surrounding tissue.

An example of successful PEMF therapy prior to radiation is seen in patients with cancer of the larynx. Moderate-intensity PEMFs were used on and around the larynx which effectively reduced inflammation and edema of the larynx. Complications after radiation included laryngitis and damage to the cartilage in the area; PEMF therapy was able to show clinical improvement in 65 per cent of the patients with these complications.

After radiation, PEMF use may support normal cell recovery with reduced damage.

PEMF Therapy Mitigates Pre- and Post-Surgery Complications

Bone pain relief can become hard to achieve for patients as a tumour presses against the bone before it is able to be removed. Nerve pain and neuropathy is common as a result of chemotherapy. Soft tissue pain is harder to identify and occurs via damage to ligaments, fascia, tendons, and muscles. PEMF therapy can provide pain relief in patients with cancerous tumours, improve chemo-induced neuropathy and maintain cellular muscle function.

Tumor removal from bone leaves the bone with defects that are exacerbated by chemotherapy. PEMF therapy can decrease the amount of bone healing time from nine months to 6.7 months.

Plastic surgeons have used PEMF therapy to decrease bruising and inflammation after surgery and assist in a speedy recovery by improving circulation to the damaged area.

PEMF therapy, as is used at our clinic, helps cancer patients in many ways. If you wish to book a session, please call our front desk at (204) 775-4539.

Cannabidiol-- Utilizes As Well As Benefits

Cannabidiol represents an entire brand-new approach psychological wellness challenges, from moderate stress and anxiety all the way as much as crippling depression. This study had a remarkable outcome; it set up a situation in which 24 individuals who had never tried CBD were examined in a public speaking examination. A hr and also a half before the examination began, people were given either CBD or a sugar pill. Those that received the placebo showed high levels of anxiety, tension as well as cognitive disability, while those who had obtained CBD saw all of those signs substantially decreased. Basically, they merely relaxed as well as relaxed.

We all love our dogs and always want them to stay fit and happy. They matter a lot to us and taking good care of their health becomes important as well. Considering the health issues that dog face into consideration, CBD for dogs has become popular amongst masses in the past two years. This natural herb has proven wonders in treating various health diseases not only for humans but also for our dogs. However, finding the best or the right CBD oil dosage for dogs can be a tricky thing. It is not easy to figure out the exact amount of CBD oil or any other CBD product you should give to your dog and to come to a conclusion how much it affects their health.

Jacobs Friday dosage conists of:

7 boxes, 7 sets of double needles for mixing, 7 needles for drawing syringes, 7 syringes, 1 IV, 2 saline syringes for flushing the IV, 7 bottles sterile saline, 7 bottles Antihemophiliac Recombiant.

This is a story about Hemophilia – a genetic bleeding disorder that my nephews Jacob Age 12 (pictured in this story) and Jeremy Age 24 both have.

Blood clotting, or coagulation, is the process that controls bleeding. It changes blood from a liquid to a solid. It's a complex process involving as many as 20 different plasma proteins, or blood clotting factors. Normally, a complex chemical process occurs using these clotting factors to form a substance called fibrin that stops bleeding. When certain coagulation factors are deficient or missing, the process doesn't occur normally.

In people with bleeding disorders, clotting factors are missing or don't work as they should. This causes them to bleed for a longer time, bruise easier and have greater joint pain than those whose blood factor levels are normal.

At the Ghandi Tulsi Manora Community Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal infants are vaccinated from contracting measles, polio, and tuberculosis. Every Sunday the hospital opens it doors for low-cost maternal care to the families of newborns; babies are first weighed, then given the proper immunization according to their age. The Polio vaccine is given through an injection into the thigh muscle, where it will slowly enters the blood stream to provide long-term immunity, after which another form of polio vaccine is given orally with two droplets entering the babies mouth while they are crying. The first set measles must be given after 45 days of birth, while the second dose must be given before 9 months. The consequences of not having protection from measles virus can be lethal for newborns.

Spiders need to drink water to function healthily, and they usually get their dosage by sipping off morning dew drops.

I have seen and reared quite a number of spiders but this particular type seem to drink alot more than the others. As seen in photo, the spider dips its mouth into the water on the leaf and spent quite some time drinking.

Note that one of its hind legs is attached to the safety line which (i) prevents the spider from falling and (ii) acts as a guide back to its nest.

More and more successful clinical cases have shown that stem cells have good effects on immune regulation and tissue repair. Many patients with autoimmune diseases from all over the world choose to come to SQ1 medical center for stem cell therapy and had significant improvements.

The Beneficial Effects Of Stem Cell Therapy On Autoimmune Diseases

The advantage of stem cell therapy for autoimmune disease is that it can help repair and regenerate tissues that were damaged during the autoimmune attacks, including damaged nerves, skin, blood vessels, organs, etc. At the same time, stem cells can regulate the immune system so that it stops attacking the body. Scientific studies have shown that stem cells can minimize the pathological effects of the immune system self-attacks, thereby avoiding autoimmunity, while maintaining the body’s ability to defend agist foreign substances and real pathogens.

Stem cell therapy helps:

Prevent disability and improve patients’ quality of life

Inhibit the formation of auto-immune antibodies

Alleviate the fibrosis process of damaged organs

Helps restore the normal function of damaged organs

Normalize immune system function

Reduce or eliminate inflammation

Alleviate joint pain

Reduce medication dosage

Reduce recurrence rate

Autoimmune Diseases That Stem Cell Therapy Can Treat

Lupus erythematosus: including cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus

Rheumatoid arthritis

Sjogren’s syndrome

Vasculitis

Dermatomyositis

Psoriasis

Ankylosing spondylitis

Ulcerative colitis

Hyperthyroidism

Crohn's disease

Scleroderma

Autoimmune thyroiditis

Studies have found that stem cells have immunoregulatory functions on various immune cells in the body. According to the follow-ups of our patients, over 76% of the patients had significant relief of symptoms within one year after receiving treatment, and the recurrence rate was significantly reduced. Stem cell therapy has become a wise choice for patients with autoimmune diseases.

Learn More About Autoimmune Diseases

Autoimmune diseases are diseases in which the body’s immune system malfunctions and causes the body to attack its normal tissues. The immune system is the security system of the human body. Through the immune surveillance mechanism, it always watches over for any pathogen invasion or cell mutations throughout the body. Once an abnormality is found, the corresponding immune response program will be activated to eliminate and remove pathogens or diseased cells.

If the patient’s immune system is over-activated under the combination of genetic defects and predisposing factors, it may mistakenly attack its normal tissues and cells, resulting in organ and tissue damage in the body that leads to autoimmune diseases. Up till now, about 7.6-9.4% of the world’s population suffer from various types of autoimmune diseases. Generally, it is difficult to cure it after the onset of the disease. Most patients need long-term or even life-long medication.

Risk Factors For Autoimmune Diseases

FactorFactor Description

Family inheritanceIf there are confirmed autoimmune patients with family members, the risk of the disease will increase significantly, such as rheumatoid arthritis, Idiopathic Inflammatory myopathy.

During embryonic development, due to gene mutation, the related immune regulatory system became malfunctions. Genetic mutations lead to susceptible genotypes that will increase the risk of developing autoimmune diseases in patients.

Congenital heart defectCongenital vascular structural defects. these defects could lead to local vascular stenosis.

Autoimmune disease: Malfunction of the immune system, which will attach and damage own tissues and organs.

Infection or disease factorsInfections of various bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses, such as streptococcus or Epstein-Barr virus

Abnormal fluctuations of hormone levels in the body

Drugs or other toxic substancesToxic side effects are caused by drug intake, such as antibiotics.

Exposure to certain toxic substances: Such as chemical ingredients, organic solvents, etc.

Lifestyle factorsLong-term smoking (including cigars and pipes) and alcoholism

Long-term sun or UV exposure

Residence in areas with severe air pollution

Long-term exposure to intensive pressure or severe mental stimulation

Clinical Symptoms Of Autoimmune Diseases

Autoimmune diseases are mainly caused by the dysfunction of the autoimmune system and attack to own tissues and organs. The clinical manifestation of different types of patients are complicated and overlap with each other. However, due to individual differences in the specific damage site and severity, they will present different clinical characteristics.

DiseaseCommon Symptoms

Joint bonesPersistent, polyarthritis of the affected joints

Pain, stiffness, swelling, and limited mobility in joints and bones

Stiffness in and around the joints after waking up in the morning called "morning stiffness “

Severe damage to articular cartilage and bone in severely affected patients, leading to joint deformity and loss of function, and ultimately disability

Skin and mucous membranesObvious rash and erythema on the skin, and may aggravate after exposure to light

Mucosal ulceration may occur in some patients, which recurs even if it could heal spontaneously

Dry mouth and eyes

Long-term and repeated skin damage may cause scarring and sclerosis of the skin tissue

Abnormal sensations on the skin surface (such as touch, temperature, etc.), unable to accurately perceive external stimuli and changes

Muscle and soft tissueMuscles and soft tissues are damaged by chronic inflammation, causing redness, pain, and weakness

As the disease progresses, the muscles and soft tissues could be severely damaged, which can lead to muscle wasting and joint deformation.

The central neural system cannot effectively control the movement of muscles in the affected area, especially difficult to perform fine movements.

Patients may also have systemic multiorgan structuralWeakness, fatigue, fever

Anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia

Gastrointestinal discomfort, loss of appetite, and severe cases may be accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea

Kidney damage can lead to proteinuria

Brain damage can cause cognitive deficits, seizures, or abnormal behaviors

Advantages Of Stem Cell Treatment For Autoimmune Diseases

At present, the clinical treatment of autoimmune disease is mainly with drug therapy, including glucocorticoids and various immunosuppressive agents. Drug therapy can only control the progression of the disease to a certain extent but cannot completely cure the disease. The immunosuppressive agents inhibit all the immune functions of the side effects and toxicity is relatively intensive.

Compared with conventional therapy, stem cell therapy has unique advantages:

Stem cell therapy

Conventional treatment

Curative Treatment or diseases management

Stem cell therapy is a new treatment for autoimmune diseases that aims to help restore normal function of the immune system by modulating immune system response and repairing/regenerating damaged cells and tissues in the body.

If you receive stem cell therapy at an early stage, it can reverse body damage caused by the immune response, thus reducing recurrence rates, freeing you from drug dependence, and even avoiding surgery.

The primary choice for autoimmune diseases is drug therapy. The main purpose of treatment is to inhibit the immune response and suppress inflammation in the body. Autoimmune diseases cannot be completely cured, and the recurrence rate is high.

Dosage

When stem cells are infused back into the body, they can regulate the immune system back to normal functionality, significantly reduce the recurrence rate, and decrease the drug dosage needed. If the therapy is conducted at an early stage of the disease, it can completely reverse the drug dependence.

Stem cell experts based on your current level of disease and other comorbidities will design a customized protocol and decide, the number of stem cells, source of stem cells, and cycles of stem cell therapy.

If you choose drug therapy, you will find the dose of the drug increase slowly and gradually, and you will gradually develop resistance and require larger dosages or more powerful drugs.

Side-effects

No Side-effects as stem cells are our cells that are used to treat the disease and regenerate lung tissue to regain proper functioning.

Drugs may have side effects on the body, such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, adverse skin reactions, and rapid decline in immune function. The side effects are tremendous.

Convenience

Stem cell therapy is performed by stem cell specialists which requires a special laboratory to process the stem cells and the medical set-up to extract and inject the stem cell.

The therapy is going to be injection-based and needs to be performed in a hospital.

It’s relatively easy to take medications, but the patient needs to take them repeatedly every day, which is prone to the development of drug dependence.

Longevity

If treated in the early stage, in the long run, stem cell therapy can eliminate drug dependence, restore normal immune system functions, and return the patient to a healthy life. After the functional recovery of the immune system, the patients can eliminate the drug dependence and significantly reduce the recurrence rate. This is a long-term effect.

If conducted at a later stage, stem cell therapy can still reduce drug dosage, and in rare cases, you might need several treatment regimens.

The effect of drug therapy is short-term, and patients need to take medications daily, once stopped, the symptoms will resume or even worsen. You need to take medications for the whole lifetime.

End-stage

Stem cells are a fundamental part of our body, and the main function of stem cells is to regulate the immune system and repair/regenerate damaged cells and help you avoid surgery.

If your symptoms are severe, surgery may be necessary, but surgery only helps to remove necrotic tissue but help little to heal the disease, your disease condition remains and continue to damage your body.

How Can Stem Cell Therapy For Autoimmune Diseases Work

Immunomodulatory mechanisms: Stem cells suppress autoimmune responses and regulate immune balance by directly engaging immune cells and secreting a variety of immunoregulatory factors, therefore preventing the progression of autoimmune diseases.

Multidirectional differentiation potential: Stem cells can migrate directionally into damaged tissues and differentiate into functional cells of the corresponding tissue through the induction of tissue microenvironment, integrate with in situ cells of damaged tissues, and repair or rebuild the structure and function of damaged tissues.

Promote angiogenesis: After infusion of stem cells to the patients with damaged heart, liver, kidney, brain, and lung, capillary regeneration can be found by angiography, indicating that stem cells can promote the regeneration of blood vessels in damaged tissue and improve blood circulation.

Antioxidative stress: After the stem cells were infused into the body, the content of superoxide dismutase in the blood increased, and the apoptotic cells in the heart, liver, and kidney tissues decreased. This result confirmed that stem cells have anti-oxidative stress and anti-apoptotic effects.
