How come, you label your brand of dope
"Volume 1" and spread it through the slums?
Fed it to the young with total disregard
Your honor, the State seeks the maximum charge
And how could you, turn right around
and release a lethal dosage called "Volume 2"~~Jay Z

Here it is at last! Tonight will be my last post b4 i fly off to Asia tomorrow for almost 4 weeks. I hope to pop in soon for sure whenever i can. For those who are keen to know where i'll be heading -> Thailand, Cambodia & of coz my homeland Singapore to visit my family :) Hopefully to squeeze some area of Malaysia into the schedule as well. I would love to catch up with some of you if i can.. just not sure how busy the trip might be as i hardly return home & family has to come first this time round.. photography will have to be second else mom & dad wouldn't be too happy :P
Also, i will be celebrating my 1st flickr anniversary in 6 days time (07 April 2009 - i will be in Bangkok by then so i don't think i'll be able to do any posting) and these 51 poles seems just so appropriate as I've also been with flickr for 51 weeks as well! :))
I still rem that moment almost a year ago when i pressed that first click on my Canon Xti. This click has came a long way for me esp here in flickr and has opened up so many beautiful friendships & opportunities which i never know & truly appreciate. I definitely wish to thank everyone of you for your wonderful support which brings me to where i'm now as you can tell my first page of post is nothing fantastic to start with. I've learnt so fast & so much from u all and i can't miss not mentioning the man who brought me into the world of HDR in May 2008 - Erlend (aka Erroba) For those who already know about Erlend, yes pls continue to visit his exciting photostream. For those who don't & normally need a daily dosage of hdr treatment from me, its now time to pay him a visit for some awesome hdr medication! :D
Till now, wish all of you well & have lotsa fun here while i'm away. Please take care & see you soon! xoxoxoxo! :)))

Chelidonium majus (commonly known as greater celandine, nipplewort, swallowwort, or tetterwort, which also refers to Sanguinaria canadensis) is a herbaceous perennial plant, one of two species in the genus Chelidonium. It is native to Europe and western Asia and introduced widely in North America
Chelidonium majus reaches 30 to 120 cm high. When injured, the plant exudes a yellow to orange latex.
The flowers consist of four yellow petals, each about 1 cm long, with two sepals. The flowers appear from late spring to summer in umbelliform cymes of about 4 flowers.

Magnetic goop known as ferrofluid
Ferrofluid: When magnets go nano
For this I used a pipette, ferrofluid , petri dish and lots of paper towels.
Coloured lights.
A ferrofluid is a liquid which becomes highly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. The distinctive ‘spikey’ shape of a magnetized ferrofluid is caused by the need to find the most stable shape in order to minimize the total energy of the system, an effect known as the normal-field instability. The fluid is more easily magnetized than the surrounding air, so is drawn out along the magnetic field lines, resulting in the formation of peaks and troughs. However, the extension of the ferrofluid is resisted by gravity and surface tension.
The more complicated explanation is all about nanoparticles. Back in the 1960s, experiments in chemistry showed that ferrofluids could be created and stabilized — a discovery actually made by NASA while searching for ways to control liquid fuel in the weightlessness of space.
Okay, but how does the ferrofluid magically transform into spikes and those crazy hedgehog shapes?
Think of it as a very careful chemical balancing act involving many different forces all hitting a sweet spot. Imagine that you apply a magnetic force to a ferrofluid, say, through a permanent magnet you have lying around
Ref: Tyler Lacoma
Ferrofluids are also the focus of current scientific research and have the potential to be used in many medical applications. In magnetic drug targeting for example, where drugs could be enclosed by ferrofluid and, once injected into the specific body area requiring treatment, a magnetic field could be applied to keep the drugs in this target area. The localization would limit exposure to the rest of the body and enable the dosage level to be decreased, reducing the adverse side effects experienced by the patient
Safety in the use of Ferrofluids and Magnets is recommended.
Do not leave anything else magnetic near your work area and keep mobile phone away
I found huge amounts of flowering Atropa belladonna yesterday, and I jokingly told a friend that it's enough to poison a whole army - which has been done by the way. Macbeth King of Scots used the black cherries "to poison the troops of the invading Harold Harefoot, King of England, to the point that the English troops were unable to stand their ground and had to retreat to their ships" (Wikipedia). It's one of the most toxic poisonous plants that Mother Nature provides, resulting in an array of colorful common names like deadly nightshade, devil's berries and death cherries. The scientific name Atropa was also chosen because of the poisonous properties of the plant's foliage and berries. Atropos is the name of one of the Three Fates in Greek mythology, the one who cuts the thread of life after her sisters have spun and measured it.
All in all Macbeth doesn't seem to be as black as he's painted - his poison victims were still able to retreat. Either he chose the dosage very carefully or his patch of belladonna was smaller than mine LOL
Something tells me that I need to rework this image. Something is fuzzy or unsharp. Perhaps the de-noising dosage was too strong.
UPDATE: I have replaced the originally posted image with the currently displayed image.

20th October 2021 :
I had to walk up to the doctor's surgery this afternoon to get my prescription changed, as the young replacement GP had made a mistake on the dosage I need. Thankfully the rain held off until I'd got back home again.
As I was a bit early, I walked down to Madeleine's house to see what new things she'd offloaded from inside.
I met her a few years ago after coming across her crazy garden not long before. (She's also one of my 100 Strangers).
Anything that gets broken or stops working never gets thrown away (or not straight away), it goes out into the garden and either rots, gets used for nest building in by the birds or anything else you can think of. She then has a blitz and everything goes to the town rubbish dump and she starts all over again.

Cinnamon was in ketoacidosis and her liver enzymes were elevated. We must increase her insulin dosages and recheck in one week. Despite buying food for diabetic dogs limiting treats and constantly monitoring her so she doesn’t eat the cats’ food her diabetes is, again, uncontrolled. I’ve been told & read that it is difficult to manage in dogs.

It has been a long time since I used the camera to take a photo to be published on Flickr, the last photo published dates back to January 13th. Since then there has been a sequence of negative circumstances.
It all started in December 2019 when I realized that the medicine I was taking to regulate blood pressure, a little high, did not work very well. After a couple of weeks of cardiology, radiology and so on, the doctors decided to change the medicine, same dosage but a different medicine.
At that time I had little free time and little desire for photos, but the problem was solved and now with the new drug I am much better.
Then, after over fifteen years of service, the computer monitor stopped working. I ordered a new monitor which arrived after a few days. But as soon as I connected the monitor I realized that the computer did not turn on ... The computer was also more than 15 years old, still with the XP operating system.
I ordered a new computer and the prospect of having to spend a lot of time setting up the new computer and including all the applications that were in the old one made me enter the mood of ... laziness ...

One of the benefits of having the RV. We get to see the Sea World fireworks without paying the Sea World price!
After shooting The Streaks of San Diego:
I started hearing some big booms coming from the North. Thunder?? No, it was the end of the day fireworks display from SeaWorld:
They put on a pretty good show, even better since we didn't have to pay admission to see it!
The downside to the whole thing is we discovered that our Meisha (aka The Big Chalupa or MushiMushi) has a fear of loud sounds. She was shaking like a leaf and wanted nothing other than to be sitting in my lap. Since then we've discovered that thunder sets her off as well. Since dogs have such good hearing she can hear it long before us. When she starts shaking, whining and begging to be up we know there's a storm in the area. May have to wind up giving her some Children's Benadryl.
Now, before you say we're going to poison her take a look at this please:
www.caninejournal.com/benadryl-dosage-for-dogs/
One of the side effects (at a proper dosing) is that the Diphenhydramine may help relieve symptoms of mild-to-moderate anxiety in pets (calm her nerves). We're looking out for her, believe me! The Tater Tot on the other hand isn't bothered a bit.
Some of you missed his traditional Friday photos. Well, he has been ill and not looking his best. He developed epilepsy 3 months ago and it took the vet a while to find the correct dosage of the drug. He is still a bit wobbly but is beginning to show signs of his normal self again. Hopefully we will keep the epilepsy under control.
For the Macro Mondays Theme: The eye of the beholder.
Fascinating how a substance can both heal or kill. In the correct dosage we call it a medicine, so it heals or improves certain diseases and disorders. In the wrong amount we call it poison, this same substance can make us more sick or even kill us. Of course nobody wants to use medicines voluntarily, we all hope to grow old healthily. Luckily a lot of illnesses and disorders can be cured nowadays, so when we need them, we can use the right medication.
For this week's theme I made an abstract photo of a capsule. I work in a pharmacy and working with medicines is my daily routine. Even though we all hope we won't have to use them, for me there is a certain beauty in it. The power of a chemical struture wich can either heal or kill... (and for me the healing part is the beauty-part)
Thank you for your time, faves and comments, it's much appreciated.
Happy Macro Mondays
Happy Easter to all of my wonderful Flickr friends. We're away at the moment with little or no internet access which is why this Easter post is a little late.
There are bunnies aplenty down the coast but I found these two at a local (medically themed) cafe just recently . . . hence the dosage here referring to caffeine! More pics and stories to come!
Thank you to everyone for all of your wonderful comments and favs and I look forward to catching up on all of your streams later in the week when we get back.
Wishing you all a wonderful Easter!

Ranunculus comes from the Orient and came to England from Turkey in the 16th century.
Although ranunculus is one of the poisonous plants, it also has a certain importance as a medicinal plant. In the right dosage and administration form, the ingredients of the plant are used against rheumatism, various skin diseases and arthritis.

- soft-gels
All modern soft-gel encapsulation uses variations of a process developed by R. P. Scherer in 1933. His innovation was to use a rotary die to produce the capsules, with the filling taking place by blow molding. This method reduced wastage, and was the first process to yield capsules with highly repeatable dosage.
Softgels can be an effective delivery system for oral drugs, especially poorly soluble drugs. This is because the fill can contain liquid ingredients that help increase solubility or permeability of the drug across the membranes in the body. Liquid ingredients are difficult to include in any other solid dosage form such as a tablet.
Happy MACRO MONDAYS. This week's theme is best shown by me with this not so pretty shot.
I have eleven cats. I use a very expensive monthly topical flea treatment for them. I buy them the very best stuff for this. But, if I bought the individual sizes for their weights, which varies among them from tee-tiny to very fat cats, I'd be broke!
My veterinarian in Sebring where this whole rescue of feral cats started for me in 2006 was a supporter of the rescue community. The liquid in each container (for either dogs or cats) is the same ... it's just the dosages that are different.
So he figured out long ago a dosage chart for the administration of this treatment for cats. I buy the BIG DOG size, and even though it's awful hard for me, I then "stick" a needle into the tube and withdraw the appropriate amount into a syringe to be topically applied for each of my cats according to their weight. This makes it more affordable for me buying the largest size.
Phew ... sorry ... you must be bored to tears at this point. SO ... I "stick" a needle into these containers each month to withdraw the liquid!
Did I say thanks for "stick"ing around long enough to read through this most lengthy theme description? Thanks for your visits and I hope faves and comments.

Dark weather and tripod forbidden induced me to adjust the aperture wide open. The Super Ikonta III fitted with the Tessar lens is quite suitable, since this lens preserves sharpness at wider apertures. I like the rendering of the out-of-focus area of medium format cameras. But realizing the wanted dosage of blurring is a real challenge, since folder cameras enable no depth-of-field control.

Bianca Bender floods both wounds well with the saline wiping at each of the GSW's in turn checking for bleeding seeing some seepage still she'd tear open a quick clot and apply the material to each wound letting it sit and do it's job as she looks back up at Dazy, "100MG of liquid Ibuprofen, and the sedative...lets keep this Tom calm shall we?" she'd turn and grabbing up a surgical kit cracking it open she'd pull out the scalpel and forceps and leaving the quick clot in place she'd begin to excise the wounds of bullet fragments, murrls to Dazy, "I think he'll do...the fluids going in, and the quick clot will stop the bleeding soon enough...he's healthy he'll regenerate nicely." she'd continue to pluck fragments they ping lightly as they are dropped into the metal tray at the edge of the bed.
Iohannes Crispien's hand would lightly clast Bails'. It would be rather weak grip, as he was pretty much passing out now.
Bianca Bender frowns seeing Ioh's breathing is rather labored, she'd pull the mask up and around cranking the oxygen up to 2L and strap the mask over his face as well.
Bailey Longcloth gives his hand a light squeeze, she'd lean down and whisper to him before he passes out
Catherine Saiman watches the proceedures with a steeled expression, silent as the grave.
Bailey Dazy's ears pin back as she goes to grab the dosages Bianca ordered for Ioh's IV. She flushes his IV line with what seems like a cocktail of drugs, but a big cat like him needs a heavy dosage. When she's done she presses a few buttons on the med-bed screen (down by the foot of the bed) and the bed begins to audibly monitor and share Ioh's vital signs.
Iohannes Crispien would softly purr at hearing Bails' soft whispering voice. He'd cough slightly as his purr ran out of breath

For the duration of Candors treatment, we have to limit the extensive excursions that he's gotten used to.
We try to balance this limit with ample quality time in the garden, and it works quite well. Candor enjoys his 'off time', guarding the grounds, scanning for intruders and looking for mice or squirrels or other things to present Buba with. Oh well, for a dog like Candor, there's never any 'off time'.
He got his 3rd dosage of anti heart worm medication this week. Next week he'll have a blood test in order to determine how many worms are left. Let's hope the number is zero...
Bonkers on the bed (between the pillows as is his rule) in the afternoon. I had to bring him upstairs because his walking is worse than normal right now due to a double dosage of his anti-seizure medicine. When he stumbles, he gets angry and cries sadly...

Scilla Siberica (Siberian Squill) - Also known as Wood Squill
To me, these delicate little bell shaped blue flowers are a welcome sign that spring has arrived. They create a beautiful blue carpet across large swathes of our ravine, and are a delight to look at. Flowering in April and May, they grow no taller than the length of your hand. Interestingly, and disappointingly, when I explored this little flower a little deeper I learned that they are an invasive species and poisonous to animals, they also have a dark and mysterious history.
“The whole plant is poisonous and it is an ingredient in rat poison. Like many poisonous plants, Siberian squill can also be used as a heart medicine if it is administered in the correct dosage. Siberian squill is connected with many beliefs, the oldest of which go back to ancient times: the scientific name of the genus is related to the goddess Scylla of Greek mythology, a beauty who was turned into a terrible sea monster. The superstitious people long regarded Siberian squill as a flower of witches and evil spirits which shouldn’t even be stepped on. It is doubtful that anybody would feel inclined to trample on this herald of the spring, even though its beauty can be enjoyed without any fear of evil spirits.”

Shooting with Lander-Now , a test with two flash( SB900+Ranger RX). the SB 900 a little too hard in the forefront therefore the sky is a little too dark and a bit noisy due to the low light rising in PProd ...and I should have place the cross between semaphore and the abbey...
At the speed which the light changes, we will have walkie talkies to communicate between the shooter and the flash adjuster !
can do better next time!
i've been wanting to take pics of the frangipani flowers...there's a tree near the gate of my house...but the flowers are always high up...so this pic is of a fallen flower...what looks huge is only a frail blade of grass...grass really holds these drops well...there were many droplets...only 2 left by the time i got the view right :(
last of the flower+drop combos for now...hope it wasn't an over dosage

Too late.
Her tiredness and lack of appetite over the last 3 weeks have worried me a little. The vet has now found out that her thyroid medication is now too high, even though the dosage has been right for the last 2 years. Now i hope that she will soon become more active again. Fortunately, she has gained 300g in weight in the last 6 months.
