What's a Monday evening without a little excitement (hysteria)?
Bou was doing well on his new dosage of heart meds yesterday but today he refused lunch (really!), threw up breakfast and then was restless and weak in the evening. I came home and could literally see his heart pounding away in his chest so off to the vet we rushed.
So now Bou's on a new drug, hoping to help him feel less queasy. And we've changed the dosage of some of the other pills too. Then we go back on Thursday for a check up.
Ah, the life of a senior and his human - always interesting. Maybe my vet can prescribe me some anti-anxiety pills!

1Z82 Stranraer - Birmingham New Street. 50007 upfront of the tour. The working pauses at Preston to allow punters to alight after a dosage of Hoover thrash along the GSWL & WCML!
I got some suggestions to improve the Dragon Unit from a variety of sources. Thanks to an ample dosage of peer pressure from Andrew Lee, here's the MK II version.
Sweet Pea got the diagnosis of Pyometra on 08.06.11 and initially she seemed to really perk up when we first gave her the medications (Baytril and Metacam), she actually went in her wheel for the first time in weeks but then on 10.06.11 she was whimpering in her sleep like she was in pain. She was only on a low dose of Metacam so we rang the Vet and asked her if we could increase it a little as we felt that the dose she was on wasn't enough so she said to us that we could give her up to 0.3mls per day but it was really our discretion as to whether we give her the full 0.3mls or just give her a percentage of it. So I upped the dosage to 0.2mls to see if that would help and that does appear be enough to keep her pain free without her being drowsy. She is still on 0.2mls of Metacam and 0.1mls of Baytril daily and so far she does seem a lot brighter. She is still eating and drinking as normal.
When we got home from the Vets on 08.06.11 I did quite a bit of research online into Pyometra in hamsters and I really didn’t like what I read so when I spoke to the Vet last Friday to discuss the medications I asked her about a hysterectomy because from what I have read that is really the only good chance Sweet Pea has of surviving and beating this Pyometra. The Vet that has been seeing Sweet Pea agreed that surgery was really the only option but said that she didn’t feel she was experienced enough to perform the surgery herself however she had already spoken to one of her colleagues who has a lot more expertise with small animal surgery and he has agreed to do the hysterectomy but the Vet Sweet Pea is under will be there with him so she can observe. I know the other Vet as I have taken other Pets to him so I am happy for him to perform the surgery, I would rather him do it than someone with less experience.
So Sweet Pea is booked in for a hysterectomy on Monday 20.06.11 at 8am. I am terrified that something will happen to her but at the same time I know that surgery will give her the best chance of survival. I am trying to make the best of what could be my last few days with her; I have just been spending as much time as I can with her and giving her all the love I can. I can’t bear to think that I might lose her on Monday but I know that it is a very real possibility. I am just hoping that she will pull through and be ok.

Life doesn’t go easy. An unexpectedly, things changed so quickly....for me. In just about two days. We decided to file a police report about Chris intervening after he got the mindwipe. Luckily the dosage cleared his memory of me there, but he’s got a lot to answer for.
And with the wonky situation with Doc...I decided to make up excuses. To tell the team about Chris’ status as it was all over the news about the gang who was involved. After getting a one way ticket to the hospital, I worked my way through to lie for the sake of my team. And Doc, with his newfound powers, had to be trained. Atom manipulation and some with healing properties. We took shifts off our schedule , as I allowed him to do so for training.
A week passes by. Then another week. He starts to get better thanks to him being a capable fighter as well, and with his intense research on the medicine, it saved the kids. Probably tested out the blood because the properties worked fine. We ensured the transfusion had to be smooth and now future drawbacks—-which turned out to be none. And with the computer’s assistance, lots of progress there.
Doc: “Well, I guess I do fall into your categories of sidekick. What do you think?”
Multi: “With your training, much better. I mean, I could, cos it lines up perfectly with the invitation and we can do the undercover thing....but...”
Doc: “But what though?” (Sonny jumps up to him and Doc pets him back)
Multi: “You already know how complex it is. The formation, everything. How I got beaten so bad in the past...yeah. The rest is history.”
Doc: “I get it. I mean, you still got me at your back, we can be a team like that. Civilian identities always in the conflict as well. Since day 1.”
Multi: “I’m taking a hiatus with those guys. Not sure when can I even get back together. Some people leave, some get lost....others....I don’t know what they’re up to.”
Doc: “You need a therapy session now?”
Multi: “Thanks but no thanks. But I did have a dream the day I went to bust the gang....it reminded me of Charlie. Again. I was dozing off at the office during lunch.”
Doc: “What did you dream again? The disappearance?”
Multi: “Yes.”
Doc: “I’m sorry. I know you still get the trauma, we’ve been through recovery....but...at this point I’m dubious to be your sidekick with those experiences of yours. I’d rather stay in my role like that.”
Multi: “I get you. I do. Of course I do. You’ve definitely been a great ally and support for these two years....it’s great.”
Doc: “But honestly, even if it’s the two of us along with the dog and the computer, how can we hold off like that as a team? Have you actually thought about how much students you’ve lost?”
Multi: “Too much.”
Doc: “I couldn’t save Mitchell....I watched him go. In the hospital. And Milan, you could but the black ops was never right for you. You appointed Jose instead.”
Multi: “Mitchell....then Charlie....Francesca. My gosh. I feel like I could cry but I can’t. Jeez....”
Doc: “That’s why the other founders asked you to get a break.”
Multi: “I don’t feel like it works man. It just doesn’t. Relocating back home this time...it’s just feeling too much and different. What else have I never encountered? Spaceships? Black holes? Alternate timelines? I’ve seen crap like that already.”
Doc: “And don’t forget Cheese. She would have been an elite. I knew the falling out was a bit too much to handle....*sigh*, am I saying too much to weigh you down Jon? These hands maybe able to heal hearts...but they can’t mend minds.”
At this point, I feel a point of conscience. The images of my previous apprentices flow through me. Isn’t it weird that, considering how young I am, I was mature enough to lead teams? Even with the close age range, to be able to...become one, just like them.
Multi: “Cheese? Darn. I don’t know. I’m feeling very light right now, just my head reconfiguring at this moment. She had those portals like Doctor Strange does, just less powerful without the mystical spells and so so. The rat probably sounded a bit odd, but kinda cool. Able to grow into such giant proportions—-“
Doc: “Like Giant Man? About the size he grew in Civil War?”
Multi: “Yeah, I guess, maybe less smaller than 50 feet. Not sure if it’s about the same power level we’ve all got like comic books or MCU/DCEU stuff.”
Doc: “Well, as anthropomorphic as she was, she probably took the right choice in following the other ninja.”
Multi: “Yup, you’re right on that part. I’m not the perfect samurai....I’m a ronin essentially.”
Doc: “So I guess we’ve went through your choices then? That’s about it for now. You already spilled your guts over legitimate reasons on why you won’t take in another.”
Multi: “At least I don’t function like a once powerful hermit living off an island. I’m still alive, mostly.
Then the phone rang.
VIVA: “Invitation call detected. Not friends or colleagues, sir.”
Doc: If it’s the invitation, then this might be the part you have to change your mind.
A change of plans. Get your act together so we can pretend.”
Multi: “What should I call you then?”
“Doctor Elite will be fine.”

“Run,” as Green muttered over the comm.
“I knew the real Knott wouldn’t be talking like that.” said Edens. “Now that I’ve realised you’ve been playing games, I might as well have to take you down.”
“So you say. Come find me then.”
The comms were cut off as Edens helplessly watched. Without a word forming from his moth, he quickly ran to the room where the real Green was knocked out, and reached for a dosage he kept in his pocket—-with a matter of seconds, Edens stabbed him right through with the needles. He immediately woke up with a jolt, eyes being bloodshot
Real Green: “What the f*ck happened?!”
Edens: “You were knocked out for three days. You were supposed to have called me to arrive a day after until your imposter delayed it for his own plans.”
Green: “What?! No, no way.....where is...?”
Edens: “Still searching. But this isn’t your time to talk now. Breathe.
Green: “But I’ve got this thing....”
As he calmed the shocked agent down, Edens turned on his mental link to Jesse. After a few minutes, he finally responded.
Edens: “Where is he?”
Jesse: “Taken but still safe. I put a tracker mark with one of the tools.”
Edens: “Good. Now go do your job, and look for Patrick as well. You have to keep him and his men alive as possible. I have to deal with Green myself. I might as well have to stay here.”
***
Patrick: “You can’t do this!”
Green: *voice over speakers* “I can do whatever I want. This ain’t your place to judge, Pat.”
Patrick: “Don’t bullsh*t me. You know what you did. Then all of those were lies!”
Green: “Maybe you were just too foolish to listen in. My friend will handle this better. Tanaka, kill him.”
Patrick and his remaining men were on the verge of death. He had managed to escape the chaos in the interrogation room as the impostor Green has duped them, sending in his own assassin, a woman who had already killed more than half. His forehead started dripping more at the thought. They were in the base, with no help or sign to be able to get out. The lobbies weren’t working as the signals were jammed. As minutes passed, his only though now was to usher his men through the emergency exits. “Go! Go now!” as Patrick exclaimed. “It’s just you and me now, they leave without me. Come face me if you dare!”
“Sure.” As the imposter Green muttered. “Tanaka, end him once and for all. He’s too invaluable for a witness anyways.” As he was about to be hit, bolts of fire appeared from the smoke, as if it were a Star Wars film. When it cleared, Silverjack was holding his rifle, aiming sternly at the mute killer.
Jesse: “We traced you just in time.”
Patrick: “How? Who are you people?—-“
Jesse: “Told ya Edens wasn’t just a normal scientist. Now, I’ve got a dance to attend, excuse me.”
Without much words to say, Silverjack reached forward, and sideswiped the forthcoming assassin, only for her dodge in mid air while he came down below. She did the exact same thing, by landing a roundhouse kick, but he dodged it with ease. Patrick’s eyes glared as if there were two tigers struggling for battle. Then he realised the idea, that the agent was trying to distract the killer. In the instant moment, he sank into deep thought, for a good 5 minutes while they were duelling out. He quickly ran to get his other men in safety, feet quick yet steady.
***
Edens wasn’t so lucky however. Surrounded by walls and rooms, intelligence might have played him for a fool. The broadcasting image of the false Green was still playing, voices repeating again and again. He could only stay in the room alongside with the real Green, who at this time was finally awake thanks to the serum, whom he had to inject twice to due his severe injury.
Edens: “How do you feel?”
Real Green: “Better. Tastes like metal.”
Edens: “It’s a common after effect. You’ll get used to it. Slows the pain.”
Real Green: “I.....I should have known, you were the doctor. Why would I call you in for such a *cough* emergency?”
Edens: “I was probably a bit dumb to take it, I was suspicious actually. I knew what happened back then for Blue, Knott.”
Knott: “You do? Still....you could have saved us?”
Edens: “But I couldn’t. Like I told your imposter, it’s impossible to do all of this. I can risk my life for sacrifice, but the project had to be safe. On the lab that night, I should have died but I didn’t.”
Knott: “I know....but....there could have been a chance if there....was actually one.”
Edens: “More could have been done.”
Knott: “Listen carefully, doc, Blue’s important....but not that important anymore. Right now, you can’t stay here longer. I want you to leave me.”
Edens: “Why?”
Knott: “My life ain’t worth is anymore now. What I need you to do—-is to find Blue right now.
Edens: “I told my partner he’s safe when we tracked him down. Is there anything you need for him?”
Knott: “Right....yes. Give this to him. Please. Give him this . This is a bunch of data I managed to keep about the ES. I want my friends safe, Edens. Do it. Do it for me. For him. And Blue can’t die worthlessly. There’s more than just the project we all know about......”

WEEK 44 – Goodman/Getwell Kroger, Revisited (IV)
Back to the pharmacy/health and beauty discussion now, here’s a straight-on pic looking over towards the pharmacy counter itself, with health and beauty again in the foreground. Be sure to head two clicks back for the rest of this discussion if you missed it.
I mentioned that that intruding wall you see – on your left, this time – was added in back in April 2016, as part of the ClickList installation. I did document the construction earlier in my album – see here, scrolling right – and l_dawg2000 has his own album on the addition as well, viewable here; but neither of our photosets has a really good comparison view of what the area looked like beforehand. So, I dug through l_dawg’s remodel coverage, and found this pic that does the job.
I believe my vantage point for this pic is slightly closer than his, but actually not by much; that’s just how drastic the health and beauty department was reconfigured as a result of ClickList! The best way to show the difference is to have you focus on the skinny, curved poles in both pics. They never moved… which indicates that what very much appears to be more than half of the original health and beauty department floor space was sacrificed for ClickList! That’s quite a big chunk, in my opinion. (Another way of looking at it: those huge air ducts in the ceiling are now all completely hidden behind the new wall.)
They were able to pull it off successfully; the area had enough space to where the remaining aisles could be lengthened, the displaced overhead wood fixture was relocated to stand in line with the other one of the pair, and the pharmacy basket sign itself swapped places with one of the secondary images in order to remain visible given the major sightline changes. The whole thing definitely seems more than a little awkward, and probably wasn’t Kroger’s first choice; but it all worked out, I suppose…

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
174/365: Stopped for my morning dosage of caffeine and sugar this morning. No day is right unless I'm in a hurry, I had a nice jog to work after that. Gotta love being sick and turning up to work with a pink nose...
Why settle for just one toy when ALL of them will do?!

Plus a good dosage of 25F degree really put on a show, as the 4960 start to back-up to it train down by Williams Station.
Alfred establishes contact with Jason not too long after I ask him to do so and I assign him and his 'outlaws' as he likes to call them their task. With Lazarus in play I need to be able to neutralise it depending on the dosage the Crimson Knight has had to the substance. I've tasked Jason and his team with retrieving the anti-Lazarus agent from one Jay Greene, a man I haven't encountered in over a decade since my first few months sporting the cowl. He was one of the first people to use the alias of the Red Hood in Gotham and he certainly wasn't the last, but he's also regarded as the most successful of the Red Hoods. If only because he was the one of the few that I couldn't expose as being a Red Hood with sufficient evidence for law enforcement to detain him.
During his time as a Red Hood he acquired a rare artefact, one containing a compound known to catalyse the natural decomposition of Lazarus in the human body. Usually Lazarus takes over a decade to naturally decompose after initial ingestion into the body and thanks to it the user retains some of the compounds natural regenerative properties. Not something serious such as reverting your body back to its prime state as it has been known to do for Ra's, but enough to repair damaged parts of the body. I suspect it was partially responsible for Jason awakening from his coma so soon after he shot that bullet into his mouth.
In a private discussion with Jason after briefing his 'outlaws' I ask for Jason to send him a blood sample. His exposure to the Lazarus pit used by Ra's means he has a quantity of Lazarus in his blood stream equal to a single exposure. Using the sample of Jason's blood as a reference I should be able to calculate the approximate number of dosages the Crimson Knight has had of Lazarus. Given the advantages this compound gives him I need to know exactly what I'm dealing with before I prepare to engage him again.
Tim will bring the blood sample back with him once he returns from Carthage in the meantime I inspect the blade that the Crimson Knight used. It's one of the sharpest blades I've ever seen especially given how easily it was able to cut through the Knight's armour with relative ease. It's certainly an uncommon item and not one you'd find in Gotham. I end up deciding to send all the information I can acquire from the blade to Dick to investigate in Bludhaven. Given the frequency of knife crime in Bludhaven it's possible Dick and Barbra may have come across a similar blade.
In the meantime as I have Dick follow up on any leads concerning the blade and wait on Tim to return and Jason to secure the artefact I decide to try and pick up the Crimson Knight's trail. The analysis table is proving faulty and unable to identify any matches to the blood sample, I'll need to have Lucius take a look at it tomorrow. Until then I'll just have to make do with my own skills and try to track down this elusive Knight myself.
But if there's one thing I can say after over thirty years living in Gotham, it's that nothing is ever so simple...

Livia had a complete blood test (as she does every 6 months). All values are good except thyroid value which means that her medication (for hypothyroïdism) should be adjusted upward, but it is not worrying because the dosage was decreased recently and it was really the minimum. A new control will be done in a month to test the new dosage.
She is such a good girl, she accepts taking of blood without moving.
For info: Livia is treated for hypothyroidism since autumn 2005. Apart from the fact that it is necessary to check the dosage every 6 months she has the same life as a dog in perfect health. She appreciates her medication as she receives it in an "apéricube" (cheese cube)
Complications from old age caught up with Magz, our eleven year old Vizsla. For her last six years, she was subject to periodic seizures that were controlled by medication. While her dosage was at a therapeutic low, it was not risk-free and known to have cumulative averse effects on liver functions. Over the last year, her health has been in decline. In the end, incurable diabetes, blindness and arthritis severely limited her mobility and lfe quality.
Magz came to us as a surprise puppy and quickly drilled deep into our heart. Her direct blood line contains many dual field and show champions. We 'field trained' her to retrieve downed upland game birds which, in turn, introduced us to the exciting world of Sporting Dog field competitions. She was eager to learn and considered fetching the morning paper her daily duty and job. She behaved in the field and at home with playful dignity and was true to her breed. As a pet, she was gentle with neighborhood children and had a wide popular following. Her nick-name, "Magzy-Waggzy." was perfect. Being our official greeter, an enthusiastic waggly-tail, wiggle-dance and fetch toy was offered to every visitor. As an outing buddy, she was a pure joy.
Magz had a way of attracting unsolicited kindness from strangers.
For example, when we arrived at the vet's place, as she was standing in the parking lot looking a bit wobbly while waiting for us to secure the car, several just teenage boys entered the lot from not far away.
One called out loudly: "Hey Mister... what a beautiful dog..." then the others chimed in with the same,,,
Jane and I responded, "Thank you..."
Another then asked: "Are you here to put her to sleep?"
We answered "Yes..."
Another said "Don't do that, she's too pretty..."
Jane responded saying that Magz was very sick.
Then one asked if he could pet her, we said "Sure..." which he did... all the while reassuring her that things were going to be OK and better... as the others cheered along with the similar reassurances.
Magz, though very weak, looked them in the eye, returned their salute with a waggle-tail, then moved to enter the clinic. Everything else went routinely.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into all of this, but I came away seeing those scruffy young boys as "angels of the moment"... I feel certain that a presence (God?) reached out to Magz, Jane and me... everyone there.
Something came over those boys... Suddenly they possessed extraordinary goodness/compassion/kindness/love, plus the ability speak for all of us and to express things in ways that were familiar to Magz. After they moved along, I'm sure they returned to being as they were.. normal, silly kids, or maybe not...
For Jane and me, the flash of that moment was a perfect... a most beautiful and unforgettable way to close this chapter.
The old Hungarian saying, "A Vizsla lives on the top of your head." certainly rang true in our home and everyday life. Magz will be deeply missed.
Peace...

The skies over Kuala Lumpur has been dark and overcast lately, and without the regular dosage of sunshine, I've been a little blue.
It didn't help that I was in the Seattle area for the past few weeks as well - it's very famous for it's overcast weather too.
So, I dug out a photo from the archives - my holiday to Pulau Perhentian Besar, a small island off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. This is in 2006, and the photo was taken with my old Nikon Coolpix 7900, during my pre SLR days.
The Perhentian Islands, named after the Malay word for stopover, is an idyllic holiday location. There are two islands, Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian), which is where the photo is taken, and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian), in the foreground. Big Perhentian has a slower pace to it - resorts are bigger, more family oriented, and perhaps a bit more sedate. Perhentian Kecil is where you head to for more nighlife, parties and younger crowds.
I miss the nice beaches ...
