Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière est une commune de la Manche, dont le platier rocheux qui nous intéresse ici, est situé à proximité immédiate de la station balnéaire de Barneville-Carteret.
On peut observer à marée basse, des calcaires stromatolithiques et des archaeocyathes, d'âge Cambrien
inférieur (entre - 541 et - 514 millions d'années), ce sont les premières traces de vie organisée identifiables
en Normandie.
Les archaeocyathes sont les premiers organismes vivants constructeurs de récifs ; ils ont une morphologie de type éponge.
Il y a quelques années, j'ai recueilli en ce lieu quelques échantillons de calcaire que j'ai poli avec patience (sur une plaque de verre à l'aide de poudre d'émeri de différents calibres), en effet, sans ce travail, on observe pratiquement rien.

This is the story of how people responded to an object that I had, how people played with the colours, each of them ending up with a complete different shape.
Since this subject matter was so far removed from my normal aesthetic (presuming I have one), I decided to go for a bit of a different look. I'm normally a contrast junky. Dark and gritty, urban and boldly colored... if colored at all.
So, these aren't as cohesive of a group as I would have liked, but it's a start. I like the general feel. The pastel colors, low contrast, and somewhat low saturation. I mean, it's at least close to what I was going for... though I'm not sure it's *me". At least they're all square. That's me. haha

I may have to see a psychiatrist. I seem to like paths that lead to the unknown. I personally think it illustrates my zest for life and adventure.

Different to all the others, as usual...
I've decided to try and get all our visitors to Glasgow pictured enthroned in the Cathedral.
P1250934 - Walking around the woods today (solo again and slowly) apart from the moment when was lying on the ground lining up a shot as you do. When some lady walking a her dog, shouted OMG an RTA, which I thought about for a moment, thinking the nearest road is nearly a mile away and carried on, then it dawned on me, she thinks I'm dead or something, to which I promptly jumped up (that was the bad move) and apologised for causing her concern. Oh well it happens (only twice so far!).
These guy's were blowing in the wind a little but managed to catch them mid swing on a dull afternoon, these and the above brightened my day, along with a little surfing on the beech.

I eventually identified this plant after some years... its lethal.
"In the late 1950s a chronic kidney condition was described from certain Balkan farming villages near the Danube. The condition was not inherited and villagers only began to show symptoms some 15 years after becoming resident, suggesting an environmental cause. Recently, strong evidence has shown that cumulative dietary poisoning by aristolochic acid, a powerful carcinogen and kidney toxin, is important in the development of the condition and the associated cancer. Whilst, from my experience, I would exercise caution and leave it to the herbal specialists... the Poison Gardens, I'm stunned to find that people would wish to plant this sickly smelling and aggressive spreader in their gardens...
