A different perspective on one of the most famous lakes in Canada, Peyto Lake.
The outlet waters from this iconic lake form the Mistaya river, creating a beautiful chasm on it's way to the North Saskatchewan River. A few pics of the river in comments.
The last Friday of the year is here. 2016 sure whizzed bye fast.....
different thinking
different perspective
different angle
different layers of flowers
that's why this image is different
colour of the flower with green , red in background adds the beauty.
thanks for every one for views, faves, comments and follows.
Played around with a few different ideas for this week's Macro Mondays theme, "Flowers". I think this is exactly the look I was after and the Meyer Optik 50mm at f/2.0 gave me the dreamy smooth bokeh I wanted in a shallow DoF shot! Approximately 1.5 inch squared of a red rose bloom.
Meyer Optik 50mm f/1.8 Oreston with Nikon PK-13 27.5mm Extension tube, Single shot at f/2.0.
The same place as in the previous photo, but a slightly different composition. Which one do you like more?

Different side "wild side" of Luxembourg lake, no boats no fishing or hunting allowed here, really quiet place and maybe why bald american eagle is nesting here.

The things that make us different
Are things that make us the same
We don’t share a first
Or even a last name
You don’t dress the way that I do
And my music hurts your ears
But as the earth is spinning
We share all seasons and years
Listen to my story
I want to hear all yours too
Then maybe at the end you’ll see
I’m just the same as you. . .
My husband shot this patient—or scared-witless—Pacific tree frog using his Nikkor 200mm macro lens and his old Nikon D4.
Same position but different angle than mine—in first comment.
There's room in the world for many different styles and apertures, and Howard and I are at either end of the spectrum. He's an IT Doc and physics guy, and has little close-sighted vision. We make a perfect pair, united in admiration of this tiny frog. Howard took this at 13:58. I took mine at 11:40. Both in shade of back deck.
Different POV to my last effort, and earlier in the evening too with the Salt Cellar picking up some direct golden light.

Something a little different today. a rural landscape just a few Kilometres from my home. It's a tough life for man and beast alike, no feedlots here, the beef cattle are free to roam and graze on grass, they grow fat and turn into tender steaks much too soon. The sad story of my life and how I didn't invest in raising beef cattle will have to keep for another day 😂.
Another view of this scene , slightly different angle from previous ones.. This is Langdale in the Lake District.
This time I took the -3 exposure and lifted the shadows (normally I would merge 0 and -3 exposures in HDR program because LX7 has limited dynamic range). Very pleased with the detail in the foreground, which is almost black in the original. But even though it is -3 EV, some highlights are still blown.
It's who I am, but you still compel me.

So let me redefine you
And you can see the tide move
Just like tears in the eyes do
And when you're feeling alone
Oh, baby, I'll be right here
Between the sea and silence
So breathe easy my dear
You can find sunshine in the rain
I will come running when you call my name
Even a broken heart can beat again
Forget about the one who caused you pain
I swear I'll love you in a different way

I recently mentioned how I love to capture the hidden gems of Durham, preferring that over the obvious shots of the cathedral etc. However, I don’t mind it being included in a shot if it is a bit different, I love this scene which shows a little of the cathedral, but my favourite part is the couple at the very top of the street. They really make the shot for me. Have a wonderful weekend, Flickr friends. ❤️
I traveled on Tonle Sap in a very “basic” boat, and was fortunate to find a local boatman, who was able to take me close to shore and “beach” the boat several times so I could see life there as it really was. The family living here supplemented their income by raising pigs seen center foreground. Some were kept in very small crates, others allowed to walk freely in the space between houses. Some of the crates were constructed so they would float tethered to the main home when the lake waters rose to the level of the houses. Because of the change in water levels as the water flows in and out of the Mekong, the houses on the lake are built on stilts to allow for the 8-9 meter rise in the water level during the rainy season.
This delightful young male downy woodpecker sure has a determined look in his eye. By the way, all male downy woodpeckers have red on their head but at different places depending on their age. This juvenile guy wears a colorful red cap but when he becomes an adult the red spot will move to the back of his head!
I’ve been looking for street scenes without people recently... I took this in our neighbourhood.. which we really like!
It has everything you need... public transport, a huge park, the centre of town... all just round the corner!
And the area has not... yet?.. been ‘gentrified’ so there’s a great mixture of people. We’ve lived her for a very long time!
I did something different with this one, since I was using a different skin I created a face for the Avalon head which is not my usual head. This skin looks great on Avalon! Also got to say I love the Xue shirt from ZFG.T he end of the year/beginning of the next are hugely stressful times, take care to self care and enjoy yourself :)

I wish I found some better sounds no one's ever heard
I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words
I wish I found some chords in an order that is new
I wish I didn't have to rhyme every time I sang
I was told when I get older, all my fears would shrink
But now I'm insecure, and I care what people think
My name's Blurryface and I care what you think
My name's Blurryface and I care what you think
Wish we could turn back time
To the good old days
When our mama sang us to sleep
But now we're stressed out (oh)
Wish we could turn back time (oh)
To the good old days (oh)
When our mama sang us to sleep
But now we're stressed out
We're stressed out

A different experience in every season: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are exquisite, tranquil and inspiring all year round. Different footpaths, cycle routes and horse trails will lead you – with or without the aid of a forest ranger – through the beauty of one of the Netherlands' most unique areas of nature. There are no less than 80 fens in this stunning green expanse – pretty impressive, right?
Four seasons
Whether it’s the frozen fairy-tale fens of the winter, the dynamics of nature coming to life in spring, the musical croaking of frogs in the summer, or the explosion of colours in the autumn: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are a feast for all the senses.
Spot kingfishers, deer and roe deer, or bear witness to the wide variety of insects and water creatures in the fens and ditches. And after an exhilarating day of activity or sport, head to one of the large terraces to enjoy the peace and quiet and a tasty snack, lunch or dinner.Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens Groot Speijck Visitor Centre has a great terrace, as does Boshuis Venkraai. And both are ideal places to relax and soak up the surroundings.
