The logo and orange name plate on the tower at Bridge 631 in East Chicago, Indiana proclaim the dearly-departed EJ&E, but a different shade of orange- that of the Indiana Harbor Belt- is the new color in town these days, even though a CN operator still staffs the tower. A pair of IHB GP40-2s cross the bridge over the Indiana Harbor Canal with petroleum coke loads from the former EJ&E Whiting Yard, which serves US Steel's East Chicago Tin Mill and the BP Whiting Refinery.
A bit about this former EJ&E branch... From end-of-track at Front Street in Whiting, (there was once a connection to the NYC and PRR mains just north of there) the branch sneaks through the refinery complex, passes Whiting Yard, crosses Bridge 631, and parallels IHB's Michigan Ave Yard before crossing the IHB main line at the south end of the yard, immediately afterwards crossing CSX's B&OCT at what was, until recently, Calumet Tower. From there, it parallels the IHB to Shearson Junction, a wye where the State Line Branch splits off and crosses the IHB at Grasselli, another recently de-towered interlocking (luckily, Grasselli Tower itself has been moved and preserved at Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson, Indiana). Also at Shearson, the branch swings east to roughly parallel the old South Shore Line route into East Chicago. Finally, at Cavanaugh, the branch joins the "J" main- CN's Matteson Sub- at a wye that has recently been reconfigured as part of the expansion of Gary Metro Airport.

Same bridge different day. Artists, when creating a piece, often do a study which means you take an in-depth look at a given subject. Observing it and sketching it from different angles, in different lights, in order to unlock it's essence. The same can be done in photography. After dropping my girls at dance class I returned to the bridge I did my last selfie to do a further study of this location. Even though the camera angle is virtually the same there were plenty of differences to observe. ~ the weather was slightly overcast and threatening rain so the light was softer and less contrasty, the shadows not as strong. It's a month later and the landscape shows some changes, the trees being fuller with their new leaves of the season. Since I am in both shots it's a study of me as well. I am closer to the camera so I am a larger element in this composition. I like that my posture looks a little better here and both of my arms are showing. In the last shot one arm was hidden. I think carrying the umbrella here gives my walk more purpose. My shutter speed is slower showing some of the motion of my stride in a pleasant way. Observing these subtleties helps me hone my eye for aesthetics in images to see what I like and don't like and helps me improve as a photographer.
I may return again changing some other variables and see what else this location has to offer.

I dressed on Monday, tried on a few different looks, and the photos generally turned out well. I hope that you like the purple fuchsia and black patterned dress. I think it goes well with the Fuchsia Boots and the Blonde wig.
When the Alaska Railroad purchased two SD70MACs from the KCS I was curious as to what number series they would be in. Well the wait is over as they are 4130 as seen here and the other is 4129. This view shows the slightly lighter yellow and what appears to me to be a slightly different font. Nonetheless the railroad will put these units to good use. I believe this was the first revenue run in the new skin.
Nothing new, I'm still playing RTW2 just old shots with different ENb's of experimental Evlina styles
And now for something completely different.....

Sporting different license plates, but I'm 99% sure its the same one that I've seen before, since it was parked near where I saw it last and has identical bodywork rust and damage.
Maybe a different variety of colour, I´m not sure about the ID, with this series I finish my album about Senegal Dragonflies.
PodrÃa ser una variedad de color de esta especie, la verdad es que no se cual es..con esta miniserie doy por finalizado el álbum de Libélulas de Senegal.
