I've seen redundant buses in use as bars, cafés, restaurants, car transporters, horseboxes - the list goes on. But never a mobile hot-tub, until today. Shame it was raining, really.

I'm learning to edit images using different applications.
For this one, I've used Pixelmator Pro (#PixelmatorPro), an Apple only software. I also use, from the Pixelmator Team, their RAW editor Photomator. With them, I take the photo as material for image creation.
I'm a beginner at this so, far from being an "artist," yet, I crave creation, happy to imitate or to innovate

I kept taking photos of the cloud formations to the northeast. Not only did the light change, going from yellow to orange to fading altogether, the clouds changed their shape, creating different patterns in a matter of minutes.

A bit different from my usual fare and although the majority of my images are of wild creatures I don't have a problem with photographing captive animals, especially as modern UK zoos do a lot of good conservation work. It is many, many years since I have visited a zoo and I was pleasantly surprised at Chester; huge enclosures and many birds free flying. It does enable you to get some interesting images.

Today I wanna share something different, cause I do not only work with dogs…
This is a night-mare, not so precise cause I didn’t copy anything else than the ideal horse I have in my mind….
I used a black paper and a white pastel and shot it, then I worked a bit on it digitally…
Below you can see the almost original one!
Have you all a nice week!
I took this picture yesterday while watching the dancers dance to the music of the Manny Cepeda Orchestra. In this image, the trombone player has walked with his trombone into the audience area, and during a part of the music where he didn't have to play, he danced with this member of the audience. He is a very tall man, and appears to be at least 18 or more inches taller than his partner.
This is an infrared image taken with my converted Nikon D300 camera. I've been taking infrared photographs for about 10 years, and with a total of 3 different cameras. It's much easier to take infrared images digitally that it was in the film days. If you like this look, I have an album of infrared photographs, creatively named Infrared.

Back shot from March 2016 from a walk around the city catching up with what's happening.
I had to take my car in for a WOF and service so instead of going home I took a walk around the city catching up on the rebuild. March 2, 2016 Christchurch New Zealand.
I loved the two different color temperatures in this. I used my ND filter for this. The top was in slight sun and the bottom in the shade, creating the warm and cool tones.
This was taken at the bottom of Vernal Falls, about 4 miles round trip.
A new edit of an old photo.
Trying something different while listening to Florence and the Machine.
Also, I am working on some new stuff and entertaining actual ideas so we'll see what happens (as always) but, good news!, I renewed my pro account (at least) for the next three months because I needed to retrieve some old photos so I guess we'll see if that means anything.
I'm also moving some photos to RedBubble where they can be purchased. If anyone wants to see a picture up there that isn't or has a request for a poster (I'll try my best) I'm just trying to establish something now that I'm kind of grounded again (expect a blog post in a week or so) but, in the mean time, I'm trying to come back. I even looked at my flickrmail for the first honest time in six months (I read the more personal stuff but nothing else, and apparently I was made admin for a group? I don't really know)!
I usually don't double up on submissions for different groups, but it was a busy weekend and I didn't really get to work on things. So I'm going for a two-fer: Minimalism for Active Assignments Weekly and Lamp for Macro Mondays.
A simple, and unoriginal, idea that I've been meaning to try. First I got my exposure as dark as I could (with limitations of flash photography), only wanting the glowing filament. Stopped my lens waaaay down (f22) to as far as I'll go before diffraction softens things up too much, dropped the ISO to my camera's minimum, and sped the shutter all the way up to sync speed. Then I blasted some white panels on each side of the bulb with flash for the speculars. Reflector underneath to lighten up the threading. There was a surprising amount of dust on the inside of the bulb was rather visable so I set the levels heavy on the contrast and did a bit of touchup in Photoshop. Idea and technique blatantly stolen from David Hobby at www.strobist.blogspot.com/.
I’ve been away for a bit visiting some different landscapes. But I’m excited to get back into a more normal routine.

Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks).
The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone or its sand deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley's vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide.
The buttes are clearly stratified, with three principal layers. The lowest layer is Organ Rock shale, the middle de Chelly sandstone and the top layer is Moenkopi shale capped by Shinarump siltstone. The valley includes large stone structures including the famed Eye of the Sun.
