The first day of spring sunrise of the same view different day. We may be expecting rain at some point according to the weather network. With the wide angle lens you can see the creek that I often photograph to the bottom left of your screen.

I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr. I may not be quick to acknowledge your visit or any comments as well as visit your space. Rest assured I will do my utmost to catch up. After this weekend things should be back to normal for us - whatever normal is ;-)
I posted a different version of this image last year. I think this one is much better. Taken at the Kreiterhof.*
The plant shown is my least favorite local weed--the aggressive European Red Raspberry (Rubus idaeus). In spring, if left alone, it grows shoots about 2m long in 2 months. The thorns are numerous and sharp. Heavy gloves are a must when getting rid of it.
* The Kreiterhof (see location below) is an amazing, amusing 200+ year-old rural establishment. Visitors are welcome from spring through autumn. You can go for a drink or a casual, simple outdoor meal. Before or after, you can wander around and take photos of a mind-boggling accumulation of objects, materials and devices that are in "indefinite long-term outdoor-storage."
Location: Kreiterhof, near the Village of Nebenau, District of Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg DE.
In my album: Dan's Miscellany.
like this very much different from your normal side on grab fish shot think this shows the birds massive wing span and beautiful feathering on its back
I hurt my ankle and I can not walk, besides the way to the lagoon is closed and well here is the result

If we look at the current offer of the various manufacturers in terms of photo cameras, all the models display a particularly extensive technical sheet. Therefore, a recurring question arises: is it possible to come across a "bad" box?
In fact, it all depends on what we are talking about. In terms of image quality, all cameras, even entry-level, are capable of delivering high-quality shots, with a good level of detail and excellent color reproduction. Similarly, all cameras sold today exceed (by far) the performance of their elders in low-light photos. A few years ago, capturing shots at ISO 6400 was almost unthinkable; today, it has become something "almost" commonplace.
In fact, the difference between two boxes will be played on other criteria. I'm thinking in particular of the autofocus: not only in terms of the speed of capturing the subject, but also of the effectiveness of the detection and tracking of the subject and its eye (human, animals, vehicles, etc.).
Likewise, burst speed – but also buffer capacity – are two important aspects.
Finally, ergonomics will be a rather interesting point to study: even within the same brand, some devices are more pleasant to handle and use than others.
In the end and in my case, I decided not to acquire new cameras even, if I must admit to you that I was very interested in the new Nikon Z9 after having had it in my hands for a few time and loaned free of charge by the importer of the sign in Belgium!
My conclusion is that with my relatively large collection of Nikon cameras and lenses, I decided to continue shooting with my two flagship cameras, the D500 and the D4s and only used the others occasionally!
For the lenses the problem is obviously different since they will always remain functional with any chosen case!
Have a nice day and see you soon artists :D
A very different location to my last photo but a similar theme. this was taken towards the end of a walking holiday in Mallorca in a small town called Banyalbufar.
from streets. Landsort is an island in the southernmost part of the archipelago of Stockholm, with it´s cannons from WWII and the cold war. And as most of the cannons in Sweden they are pointing eastwards...The lighthouse here was built 1640, can be seen 25 nautical miles out in the baltic sea and has the character Fl(1+4) WGR 60s.

Slightly Different Gift Shop Window
Redondo Beach Pier
Redondo Beach, CA

Usually this little gift shop on the pier has dozens of Day of the Dead figurines, and I stopped by to photograph them. However, there were only a few. In another window, this sprightly lass called to me and asked me to take her (and her peacock's) picture, which I was happy to oblige.
Frosty same view different day.

Thank you for you visit to my little space here on Flickr.
I need to try and reshoot this bird, I think I could have chosen better settings on my camera and I would prefer a ground setting rather than one on top of a roof, although a blue sky was a plus. I still like the image but I would like more time with the subject. I got spoiled with 5 weeks of Bald Eagle shooting.

2 sb600 behind the curtain/white table cloth shoot at full power to give a full effect
and one sb900 shoot bounce on silver umbrella at 1/4 power as a main light for the object/me
the trick to give that warping effect is i hang a white table cloth on the door than shoot it with speedlight
touch up in lightroom to clean a little mess
I liked how this split in the fence shows two different paths: the high wire with lots of twists and turns, or the smooth, easy slope down. I think the easy route looks the most appealing!
An early post ready for FF tomorrow as I think I've got a busy day. Have a good weekend everyone.
I had watched a tutorial earlier this week about the camera and different settings, something I think one is supposed to do when you first buy a camera, but why on earth do that?!
There were quite a few things that I learnt ( including how to double take, which I have yet to try) about the camera including the “C” function which I had never used before, I have used the “M” button except for when I hand it to someone else and then put it into point and shoot mode.
This is a result of the “c” function, the light source is the phones torch, I was surprised just how clear the shot was but then of course the iso is up through the roof.
It’s a cyclamen but and stem but then I suspect that you knew that anyway.
Thanks for stopping
Quick pic of one of the two new releases from Curio. I had to play around with some different shapes, to get the nose looking as neat as I wished ending up with this one which is Bebe from Juicy, but I am absolutely in love with the lips on this skin.
I know it's not 'best practice' to use a hair with a fringe when picturing a new skin, but /shrug tis my picture made for my own amusement, so 'ner ner ner ner ner' to that =D
Picture's a little photoshopped, but not heavily so.

A chip out of one of my favourite Denby bowls. Dropped a wine glass on it. Having too much fun I guess.
Happy Macro Monday everyone. Looking forward to everyone's submissions and to see how many different chip(s) we get.

Thank you John ( Rusty Marvin ) for the awful pun on my shot yesterday, it was so bad i had to use it as a title for todays posting :)
A return to Totland pier, but four years later and a different approach with a long-exposure wide-angle Vertorama and a lot less actual pier seeing as sadly, its being knocked down (hopefully to be replaced by a new one)
