This flower is "Balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorus)",
and usually it's 5 petals,
but I found 4 petals version. Amazing...

I had to fly up to Hull and took a series of aerial landscapes out of the not particularly clean side window of a Piper Cherokee!

This was taken flying at 1,000 ft and 140 knots with 1/200th at f 9 ISO 200 and 55mm
What a difference a day makes. Today's temps will reach the 60's, and most of the snow has melted. The cold returns in a few days, though, so don't get too comfy.

surprisingly challenging task. I expected to do the whole pool, but
the dark color was a surprisingly hardy crust that didn't succumb to
a brush but if you rub it hard enough it will crumble.

The first outing of the day was to the local recycling centre to drop off an old computer and CRT monitor that Sanni has had in the flat for ages. They're both heavy and difficult for her to move, so I was happy to help out.
I was a bit surprised at how much the recycling centres at home look like this one (upon which they must surely have been modelled) but with one significant difference. The price list!
Blessedly the drop off of the PC was free. I'm not quite sure where the cost threshold kicks in.
This rickshaw puller was trying to save himself from rain under a shade. May be he was afraid of getting cold or fever, which would be disastrous for him. In front of him few young boy and girl were enjoying the rain with ice-cream in hand!

Ft. Buchanan, PR, April 1, 2014 - "How do we know we are making a difference?" with that questions Dr. Christine T. Altendorf, Director of the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Office from the Department of the Army at Washington, DC., opens the Conference at the Community Club hosted by Fort Buchanan US Army Garrison Command.
More than 50 representatives from Department of the Army and other Federal Agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, gathered to expand the knowledge and the efficiency of the Sexual Harassment / Assault Response Program (SHARP), also known as Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) in other agencies. With the same goal in mind the entire representatives presented their capacities and how they are implementing the program within their work areas.
“Because of the cultural change, this transition doesn't happen overnight. We used to focus in the training for fighting the war, but now is time to focus on the resiliency of individuals. SHARP have a big focus on the ready and resilient campaign" add Dr. Altendorf.
Brig. Gen. Jose R. Burgos, Commander of the 1st Mission Support Command (1st MSC), US Army Reserve Puerto Rico participated at the conference with Ms. Evelyn M. Franco, Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) for the 1st MSC.
Ms. Franco also participated in the First SHARP School House pilot course at Fort Belvoir, VA from 27 Jan thru 21 Mar. This course is part of the Department of Defense directive. In this training Ms. Franco obtained the SHARP Trainer certification, Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course Certification and Intermediate Facilitator Skill Course Certification. From a group of 30 in this course, only 2 members where from the entire US Army Reserve Command.
Graduates will return to their commands where they will instruct others and assist the commander in SHARP training. The intent is to facilitate this training to all Sexual Assault Response Coordinators from the Army.
