WHIMSICAL is the topic for Monday 31 March, 2014.
One of the more whimsical labels from our beer exchange we held this winter.
From the Microbrasserie Dieu du Ciel Inc., St.Jerome, Quebec, Canada
Here's a little French translation;
Corne du diable... Devil's horn
Brasserie... Brewery
Dieu du Ciel... God of Heaven

Für eine Backe Hintern ist bequem noch Platz, aber das Streicheln der Brennnesseln durch die kurze Hose quaddelt.
One of my suit mates, Brandon, is a numismatist, which apparently means that he collects coins. He has hundred of coins in his collection and always carries around a special half dollar his grandfather left him before he passed on. Today he asked me if I could get a closeup of this penny he suspected to be a double die. This means that it was struck twice and will have a 'stereo punched' effect. Since I don't have a macro lens I went to my backup solution. I put my 75-300 on and focused it to ~105mm, then I put my 50mmƒ1.4 and focused it to infinity. Once that was lined up I put the penny in the front and moved it back and forth to find a good focus on the subject. The depth of field was something like 1-2mm with this setup. I used live view-remote shooting to get a razor sharp image. here are some links that are related that you may find interesting.
