The 2019 Holi Pilgrimage with Paramahamsa Vishwananda was an adventure of devotion that took place in the heart of bhakti – Vrindavan and the ashram of the Shree Giridhar Dham. During this pilgrimage, a huge number of devotees from all over the world experienced the joyous festival of colours known as ‘Holi’ and visited many of the sacred sites where Lord Krishna’s leelas took place. The program was filled with prayers, singing, dancing, satsangs and more, making it truly an unforgettable experience.

One Heart.

One Love.

One Life.

It's like dat.

This is a bit weird you may think, but I needed a picture of devotion for school. Fernando played along perfectly. On Black

From Paris' oldest church: St. Germain des Pres - the El Greco is a copy.

I'd have more photo's from this church if it hadn't been so dark. I did manage to visit the marked; but barely notice-able tomb here of Rene Descartes: who sits along-side David Hume in my pantheon of mind-frying philosophers.

The 2020 Holi Adventure with Paramahamsa Vishwananda was infused with devotion as it took place in Vrindavan, India, and the ashram of the Shree Giridhar Dham. Fortunately, it was held just before the onset of big changes in the world due to the Coronavirus, so a large number of devotees from all over the world were able to experience the joyous festival of colours known as ‘Holi’ and visit many of the sacred sites where Lord Krishna’s lilas took place.

During this time, new deities were installed at the ashram, too: Panduranga, Rukmini, and a unique Hanuman/Garuda.

A truly memorable trip for everyone in so many ways!

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

From their own website: "A wonderful 5 metre high Green Tara statue has recently been built by Lama Thubten Kunsal in the new herbal medicine garden to the right of the Samye Liberation Gate. Green Tara is said to embody the loving compassion of all the Buddhas. Her female form symbolises wisdom and her posture with the right foot extended represents her readiness to help whomsoever needs it. The Green Tara prayers, recited to overcome fear and obstacles, are chanted in the Samye Ling Temple every morning between 6 and 7am."

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Everyday during this month, Muslims around the world spend the daylight hours in a complete fast. During this holy month Muslims all over the world abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during the daylight hours. As a time to purify the soul, refocus attention on God, and practice self-sacrifice, Ramadan is much more than just not eating and drinking. The Arabic word for "fasting" (swam) literally means "to refrain" - and it means not only refraining from food and drink but also from evil actions, thoughts, and words.

Devoted souls congregate and pray to the almighty for peace and mercy as Ramadan is said to be the month of forgiveness.

This is another one of my devotional images from the past. I'm fairly certain this was taken with a Minolta Dynax 5xi and a 28-105 Minolta zoom. I still own this camera - somehow the lens I don't, although I own a 100-300 minolta zoom and a 35-80.

These were excellent lenses and work with the Sony system.

Here's an old TV ad for this camera

These are ridiculously cheap now, but when I bought my outfit it cost me $2500 - the Minolta 5xi body, 28-105, 100-300 zoom and 5400 flash (which I still own).

Real fearlessness is the product of tenderness.

It comes from letting the world tickle your heart, your raw and beautiful heart.

You are willing to open up, without resistance or shyness, and face the world.

You are willing to share your heart with others.

This is Tucker. He was my Grampas dog. He is 11 years old and was completely devoted to my Grampa. Followed him room to room, on the scooter, and eventually at his bed side. All for the occasional pat or "good boy." Dogs are Amazing.

Galungan:

This is the most important holiday symbolizing the victory of Virtue (Dharma) upon Evil (Adharma). The holiday is specialized by the fitting of 'penjor', a tall bamboo pole splendidly decorated with woven young coconut leaves, fruit, cakes and flowers, on the right side of every house entrance. People are attired in their finest clothes and jewels this day.

Kuningan:

This holiday takes place ten days after Galungan, bringing the holiday period to a closing time. On this day, a special ritual ceremony is held for the Ancestral spirits.
