Flex Crash Course led by Adobe's Ted Patrick at the Ribbit Spawn- Sunday, March 16, 2008 - developer.ribbit.com
My brother picked me up from my flat this morning and I went with him to a building site to get some photos for his acoustic flooring business. The developers are building an extra couple of floors on top of an existing building and it has amazing views in all directions - look one way and you see the Shard (albeit through protective film on the windows at the moment!), look to the left and you see St Paul's, turn further left and you see the London Eye - and so on. Can't imagine what it's going to cost when it's finished!
Got lots of shots of my brother pretending to lay flooring/direct it being laid. I'm not sure they were particularly great, but I'm hoping there will be at least a few good usable ones for his company's website.
He started to drive me back to work afterwards, but the traffic was awful, so I hopped out near Monument and walked the rest of the way. Had a busy afternoon at work, then managed to haul Tim's huge Christmas present home (a bicycle repair stand, which I hadn't really thought would be quite so big or heavy!) - thankfully we had a very useful wheeled holdall at work, which I was able to borrow.

Once we undertake the steps of the website developer, consider your sitemap being an outline that communicates what content goes where, the connection between different pages, and a straightforward (text/written) representation from the major servings of your company. Then we take this sitemap and draft a suitable wireframe (blueprint) and style from this. Although sitemaps are very important to the style of your website (because they let us account for all those various pages, sub-content, and make preparations our designs for everything they have to encompass) it normally won't always follow them exactly. They Are Doing always include links to each page around the sitemap however. Ultimately our design team marries the sitemap and major pages/sections, together with your design goals, our very own design vision, website design best-practices, and internet search engine an internet-based marketing to provide your final wireframe and style.
SITEMAPS - GETTING A Bit More TECHNICAL
sitemap2So here’s where it will get just a little confusing, a sitemap refers both to some file we’re focusing on while we’re planning websites (the outline or map), it very particularly refers to a few files and pages which will reside in your website when it’s finished. Let’s explain just a little further:
Google uses software referred to as “web crawlers” to uncover openly available webpages for individuals performing searches. The sitemap informs search engines like google of the baby pages in your site, how new/updated the web site is, and when the website developer can be obtained for “crawling”. Web crawlers like Googlebot can see the sitemap file to smartly crawl your website which are more relevant results.
Your sitemap can provide metadata connected using the pages you're discussing. Metadata is details about a website, for example once the page was last updated, how frequently the page is altered, and the significance of the page in accordance with other URLs within the site.

Because the overall reason for a sitemap would be to make things simpler for users and crawlers like GoogleBot to know what’s around the page and the way to travel through the website, it's especially crucial for any large, complex sites. Google may take additional data from sitemaps and metadata into consideration for searches where and when it's appropriate. Google also uses sitemaps to assist users discover the best content according to their search.

Note: Google doesn’t be certain that all the products inside your sitemap is going to be crawled and indexed, as Google processes depend on complex algorithms to schedule crawling. Nevertheless, your website developer may benefit from getting a sitemap generally, and you'll never be scrutinized for getting one. By getting a sitemap and metadata in position, you can rely that Google won't overlook a number of your website and can rather present the consumer searching using the relevant information they're searching for.
