Changed developer as my Pyrocat HD was getting a bit "tired". This is with the D23 two bath formula. Simple and cheap.
Just stock D23 ( 100 grams of Sodium Sulphite, 7.5 grams of Metol/Elon per 1000/ml. Second bath is Borax (20 Mule team) 20 grams/1000 ml.
The initial D23 bath is used for 3-4 min, constant agitation and the the Borax 2nd bath, stand development for 3-4 min. Tha A bath (D23) can be used for up to 40-45 rolls with some filtration and the B bath is made up fresh for each run.
Lower contrast than the Pyrocat HD and less acutance , but mid tones work well.

Testing my developer against Coffer's positive developer. Trying to determine the cause of my unevenness. Results here were rather inconclusive but it seemed to me my own mix with extra alcohol was too streaky. Plus the developer was harder to wash off.
I ended up modifying Coffer's formula by cutting the Ferrous Sulfate by 20% and increasing the alcohol in his by 20%. Perfect plates the next day.

Man, I think we have a real winner here with TMax developer, the contrast is rich, with the maintaining of tone, super sharp, and fine grain!

Kentmere100 + T-Max developer. I found the liquid contains some sticky substance at development.... I have discarded it and have prepared SPD ( Super prodol ) for substitution.
Blurry photo taken at Sapo's Codebits 2011 in Lisbon.
The blurred action depicts hardworking developers during coding competition.
The omnipresent green is a Codebits' trademark.
Okay, so I can see why the two are made for each other. These ended up being amazing! Great contrast, edge sharpness, and tonal separation. While there is some grain, it is pleasing and only adds to the images.

Help - is this developer re-usable?
The instructions say you make a litre of stock.
This stock is then diluted in 3 parts water to develop film.
But the part i don't understand is the instructions say the litre of stock can develop no more than 3 films.
Does this mean I can re-use the stock three times?
I'm really lost on this one.
Developers at the facebook f8 hackathon. Bart and I were going to write an app, but we were a bit tired and decided to hang out with the Red Bull peeps.

992 hectares (2450 acres) on new hwy with distant ocean views. Ready for development. 4-5 km to beach. Only 65,000 pesos (appros $7150 U.S.)per hectare.(2.47 acres in a hectare)
while Kodak Ektar film in my Redinol f4 was clearly more reddish in tones, my newest homemade developer Redinol formula 5 is very fuschia pink in color cast. which i've desaturated to this- what i feel is a quite pleasing, soft sepia.
i'm hopeful that i can try a new developer recipe tonight... i've been prepping it all week- i just need my lil 'one to behave so i can shoot some more film today.
cheers.

If you’d like to view my images larger… While I only allow my contacts to view my larger images (I generally upload at least 800px images on the long axis)…
a quick workaround I might suggest is to view my photostream as a slideshow. Works well for me. This is frequently how I view others’ ‘streams, and it will put a large image on black. just click the projector screen icon next to the stream or set. : )

It's always important to start a review of a film right, which often means sourcing a dedicated developer. In the case of Foma Retropan 320 Soft, that is Foma Retro Special developer. And you know, it turned out okay! While you get a lot of visible grain, the contrast is on point and far better than previous attempts at this film.
