Sailing towards Ullapool by moonlight, magical....
Arriving an hour later in total darkness and pitching a tent amidst a cloud of midges, priceless...
Cadiz Court, the Barking borough's oldest tower block, built in 1963. It was the first high-rise building built under the then newly-formed Barking and Dagenham Council. The council have decided to demolish it and replace it with 54 affordable flats and houses.
The Council began to empty the 44-flat block in February 2005, and the last resident moved out in May 2006, some two years before demolishion began. The delay was caused because the flats had mobile phone masts on the roof which needed to be relocated!

Scots Guardsman arrives at Winchfield for the booked water stop with the heavily delayed Swanage Belle. Unusually the steam tour was pathed in front of normal passenger workings and took considerably longer than the booked time to take on water incurring further delays to all the following services. On departure 33207 Jim Martin provides assistance to get the train underway.
After a delay in the commencement ceremony, due to inclement weather, the Class of 2015 was honored for successfully achieving the goal set out four years ago. As they waited patiently for their diplomas and the opportunity to celebrate at Project Graduation, the graduating class of 1151 members received encouraging and inspirational words from Jets Head Coach Todd Bowles, who in 1981 also graduated from the Elizabeth Public School system to move on to college and eventually a successful career in professional football. Congratulations to the Class of 2015!
When you come late to a tontin (women's meeting in Cameroon, which is in the habit of being grouped by vicinities) you have to pay a sanction. Sanction of 10 FCFAs (1 € = 655 FCFAs), but that avoids a terrible problem there, the unpunctuality.

the day Lisa & i went to play at this place...

"you folks waiting for the 4:00 safari bus tour?" ..."we need you to sit tight here for a bit....the emergency gates have all been closed...dont panic..one of our animals is loose...so the tour may be a bit delayed. We are in the progress of corraling the animal(s)."
::::blink...blink::::
we did ...finally get out of him it was a hooved animal....i think he decided to share that after seeing the fear in all of our faces that we were now staring in the AZ live version of Jurrasic Park where the Big Cats get out & chew on the visitors....
anywho...this guy was sitting up on his house after getting some meat chucked over the fence to him by the keepers. There were a few "foto-platforms" to take advantage of....& I am hoping my other fotos are not too blurred from the wind almost blowing me over.
** edit ** 7/30/11 --got email ...this foto will be on the easy tiger label for lizziefresh coffee. yay cloud!
The flight was due to take off at 22.25 local time, but after several delays took off at 00.55 local time. The departure board couldn't handle departures after midnight so remained on 23.55.
Although the delay was somewhat annoying, two and a half hours is nothing compared to the delays that some people are tollerating at Gatwick and Heathrow. In fact we were the only departure from Forli after 21.00, and the flight was only 20% full, so us small group of passengers had six departure areas all to ourselves, and they kept the bar open for us too.
One can't really complain, especially as RyanAir were determined to get us home by taking on way too much fuel (in case we had to circle or divert). And they didn't charge us for this extra fuel!
Apparently it was snowing hard enough in southeast Alaska that my flight was delayed from 10:50 to 1:45. So I would be missing my connection in Juneau down to Petersburg. At about 11:45 I made the decision to spend the night in Seattle again instead of Juneau. That gives me two chances to make it home tomorrow. More than an hour later and I'm still waiting for my checked bag to be pulled and delivered to the baggage claim area. I have a rental car but still need to book a hotel. With internet acces I can extend my reservation from last night. I'm out of clean socks and shirts. My jeans are getting grungy too. I do have a spare pair of underwear if I ever get my checked bag.
Tried out the Panorama feature of my iPhone while a storm was rolling into Denver. Usually don't post iPhone photos on my account, but I like this shot.
It took me an hour and a half to get home from work tonight. Police activity at Somerset station caused delays. Then a fire at Girard caused major delays...

Down at the North Avenue Beach it looks like "Bus Tracker" isn't going to be very useful at this bus stop for a while...
