⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍
I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.
Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)
Spring is a little bit late this year. Same time last year I sat in beautiful sunshine outside in a t-shirt. Not a good idea to do the same now...Zaandse Schans, The Netherlands
It's strange how instant gratification evolves over time: from popping bubble wrap... to pushing a button... and now, returning to "normal"...
But "normal" has changed, normal is now wearing a mask and practicing physical distancing.
Delaying gratification can slow the virus spread and help with returning faster to something more like the "old normal".
What is required from us and how we respond to that will shape the story we'll tell in the future.
The rising sun finally wins its daily battle with the ground fog. Thanks for the look. Have a good week ahead.
My agenda saw me starting my Ester holidays at the Danish West Coast today. Unfortunately circumstances were against our plans, so no Easter Eggs on the beach, looks more like playing hide and seek with myself in my garden („got you punk, you desperately need a hairdresser“). Anyway, as soon as martial law is over in Europe I will turn North to get my annual wellness time in Denmark. Instead of my first coastal shot of the year please enjoy a picture taken last weekend of river Werre near Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany
Trying to catch up my delay ... (which has become very big) ... but I need to post a new photo from time to time ...
Thank you in advance for all your faves and comments. I might answer several WEEKS/MONTHS later. And I might post several photos in the meantime.
You just have to get used to the fact that I am soooo slow and a lot of my pictures take a year or more to see the light of day.
A fence image from the big snowfall in January.
Happy weekend everyone!
Two of the Grand Forks horses, looking for something to snack on. It's been a grim late winter and spring here. Now we have flooding.
One of my 4 photos in the spring couture editorial for the June 2020 issue of FLAWZ, an anniversary issue that I forgot to post for some reason when it first came out. Sorry about the delay.

Rusty edges to feathers and pale eyebrow in winter contrast with blackish feather bases. Breeding males are glossy black. Shorter tail than Common Grackle. Thinner bill than Red-winged Blackbird. Found in wooded swamps. Often in flocks; frequently mixes with Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackle in winter. Look for flocks perched at tops of trees bordering marshes and listen for their calls to help pick them out from large flocks of blackbirds. (eBird)
---------------
We found five Rusty Blackbirds in a flock of over 100 grackles and starlings, all waiting for the arrival of the north winds to help them start their migration. Unseasonably warm weather and south winds had delayed migration considerably.

On dewy mornings in late August and September, dragonflies are prisoners of the marsh and must wait for the sun to dry their wings before they can take off.

Nearing my take-out point in Bay Area Park, I encountered this nicely posed Snowy Egret that briefly stopped me in my tracks on Armand Bayou.
Assateague Lighthouse, 142-foot-tall (43 m), is on the southern end of Assateague Island in Virginia portion.
Located within the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and operated by the U.S. Coast Guard and is still used as an active aid in navigation.
The original lighthouse was constructed in 1833 at a cost of ~ $55,000. In 1860, construction on a taller, more powerfully illuminated brick lighthouse began, but was delayed by the Civil War. After the war, work resumed and the lighthouse was completed in 1867.
The lighthouse is conical in shape and is painted in alternating bands of red and white.
A $1.5 million renovation was completed in October 2013.
A 15 minute drive from our caravan and with the delightful name of Wolla Bank. Our caravan site opens on the 15th of this month but we will be delayed for a couple of reasons but have pencilled in the 17th which may or may not get altered but i can still daydream...incidentally I traded this particular camera in because I didn't get on with it at all but came across a few that I actually liked including this one :)
Just a reminder that the sun sets inland so is setting behind me but out of site over the reed beds…..and to further demolish any romanticism the red colour in the waves is mud which gets churned up and is there somedays but not others.

El tren (592.016) procede de la Estación de Segorbe y está a punto de parar en la de Soneja (al fondo). Por cierto, venía con algo de retraso, pues primero ha tenido que pasar un tren de mercancías.

The train comes from the Segorbe Station and is about to stop at the Soneja station (in the background). By the way, it came with some delay, because first a freight train had to pass.

NS 316 waits patiently behind a broken in half 310 in Euclid, Ohio at UD. This edition of 316 had a teardrop window SD75i CN doing the honors. After hearing that they were stopped just 200 feet from the crossing of London Road, I knew that I had to get in the car and shoot, regardless of the 20 degree freezing rain that was falling. Not only were they stuck behind 310 which had 3 CN units, they had to wait on 23K which also had a pair of CN’s. Seven CN units on NS?
I had got up early to shoot sunrise and got nothing because of the haze/smog. I came out half an hour later and got this.
We had spent the night at the fort which was amazing but hot water didn't seem to be a priority hence quite a stinky trip to Jaipur after breakfast.
M.S.C. Virtuosa prepares to leave Liverpool. I was there earlier, in wonderful bright sunshine, but her advertised departure time was delayed...I was hoping for sufficient light to be able to get good pictures, I pushed the iso up a bit, and I am happy with the results.
Or failure to launch, possibly. We notice more Canada Geese than usual hanging around here even as January approaches. Of course I don't really know birds (or what they're thinking).

Sometimes you just have to sit on a rock and wait for the magic to happen.
I love the patterns that fallen leaves make. And the jumble of different kinds...
This was taken in my garden during one of the earlier frosts of what has been an unusually frosty winter for recent times.
This one was another adventure using Nik Color Efex for the stylising. I really like these filters for producing some really nice photo-realistic effects. Definitely the ones I would want on my desert island. (If you would like the preset I created for this, just ask.)
This one is not for a group or a project. I just liked it :)
Thanks for all your comments and faves. I'll try and respond as and when I am able! Have a lovely week...
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image.
