Spring is a little bit late this year. Same time last year I sat in beautiful sunshine outside in a t-shirt. Not a good idea to do the same now...Zaandse Schans, The Netherlands

I know for a lot of us, photography is an escape form the madness of the world, but in the context of this photo it is a reaction to an action.

Last night, the Village of Beecher finally hosted their fireworks show on Labor Day weekend, 2 months after it was originally scheduled. The delay was because the Delta variant was really starting to ramp up on infections. Since then, cases in the US have increased steadily, most notably in the last couple weeks. About 6% more of the US has been fully vaxxed between when this show was delayed and now.

"And yes, there are over a million words in our language but for some reason none of them can describe the way you make me feel."

―R.M. Drake

Today, we challenged ourself to take the portrait of the other, obviously I fell in love with his face again and again and again and had to share this extraordinary human on my page without delay !

The rising sun finally wins its daily battle with the ground fog. Thanks for the look. Have a good week ahead.

Always do it on my own

So I gotta get through it

And the only thing I know

Is to love what I'm doing

Never give up, never slow

Till I finally prove it

Never listen to the no's

I just wanna keep moving

My agenda saw me starting my Ester holidays at the Danish West Coast today. Unfortunately circumstances were against our plans, so no Easter Eggs on the beach, looks more like playing hide and seek with myself in my garden („got you punk, you desperately need a hairdresser“). Anyway, as soon as martial law is over in Europe I will turn North to get my annual wellness time in Denmark. Instead of my first coastal shot of the year please enjoy a picture taken last weekend of river Werre near Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany

Two of the Grand Forks horses, looking for something to snack on. It's been a grim late winter and spring here. Now we have flooding.

I just want to apologise for the delay in catching up with you all. After a busy weekend being a wedding photographer my OH went down with Covid and I followed suit a few days later. I was not really ill but it has left me with extreme tiredness which comes over in waves (hence the upload!!) Hopefully I will catch up with everyone soon. Keep well everyone!

...looks very much like summer, only cooler.

Deseret Power Railway's morning loads glides through the gentle reverse S-curve at milepost 17.5, near Dinosaur, Colorado. In a little less than an hour, after a brief delay for MoW ahead, the train will unload its black diamonds at the Bonanza Power Plant in Bonanza, UT.

Hard to believe that only three hours earlier, I was driving over two mountain passes in blowing snow.

Delayed winter in the lake Dürsee in Aflenz land, Austria.

⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ and visits they are so very much appreciated. 👍

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

Waiting for a delayed train at London KX. Patience, hope and frustration.

Well folks since very early this morning I've been trying to upload an image and was not able to, something about a bad Gateway and wound up almost crashing the computer, Flickr will be Flickr. That said this is the beginning of a great day in the wetlands. Sorry for the delay, thanks for visiting and have a great night, and a great weekend.

NS 316 waits patiently behind a broken in half 310 in Euclid, Ohio at UD. This edition of 316 had a teardrop window SD75i CN doing the honors. After hearing that they were stopped just 200 feet from the crossing of London Road, I knew that I had to get in the car and shoot, regardless of the 20 degree freezing rain that was falling. Not only were they stuck behind 310 which had 3 CN units, they had to wait on 23K which also had a pair of CN’s. Seven CN units on NS?

I had got up early to shoot sunrise and got nothing because of the haze/smog. I came out half an hour later and got this.

We had spent the night at the fort which was amazing but hot water didn't seem to be a priority hence quite a stinky trip to Jaipur after breakfast.

Trying to catch up my delay ... (which is still very big) ... but I need to post a new photo from time to time ...

Thank you in advance for all your faves and comments. I might answer several WEEKS/MONTHS later. And I might post several photos in the meantime.

A new company Firefly attempted to launch a much smaller, cheaper rocket last night at Vandenberg Space Force -- unfortunately they experienced (in their words) "An Anomaly" 2 minutes into flight and had to abort the mission over the Pacific Ocean.

Actually check that, significant portions of metal and insulation have actually floated to the ground just east of Santa Maria, now that's a little scary and is NOT supposed to happen.

Starting from the beginning when they delayed the launch an hour it was sort of doomed to failure.

My dictionary defines Anomaly as "Something abnormal; an irregularity" --

Those Texans sure have a gift for understatement.

Or failure to launch, possibly. We notice more Canada Geese than usual hanging around here even as January approaches. Of course I don't really know birds (or what they're thinking).

Neji middle of play. Neji was from our previous foster litter #Saibaikatit

On July, we got two new fosters. 3-4 month old teenager and 4 week old furry little ginger. The ginger was really sick from the beginning and we were afraid that he/she would die during the first night. In the end we fought for days to keep that ginger alive, but we only delayed the inevitable. We lost that fight. The teenager was here for few weeks and then moved other home for "home cat training".

I love the patterns that fallen leaves make. And the jumble of different kinds...

This was taken in my garden during one of the earlier frosts of what has been an unusually frosty winter for recent times.

This one was another adventure using Nik Color Efex for the stylising. I really like these filters for producing some really nice photo-realistic effects. Definitely the ones I would want on my desert island. (If you would like the preset I created for this, just ask.)

This one is not for a group or a project. I just liked it :)

Thanks for all your comments and faves. I'll try and respond as and when I am able! Have a lovely week...

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image.

Some timely for me delays kept CP 650 from departing overnight and instead gave it a sunny morning departure. Here we see it at CP 501 on the NS Chicago Line with Navy Veterans SD70ACu #7022 leading.

upload frenzy today, probably because I'm shunning work and trying to avoid marking papers...

Join me in Scotland...

Its hard to reconcile the beauty of this stunning valley with the tragic events that took place in 1692. Clan MacDonald of Glencoe had delayed pledging allegiance to the new monarchs, William III and Mary II, missing the deadline set by the government. Under orders, soldiers from Clan Campbell, who had been staying with the MacDonalds as guests, attacked them in the early hours of a snowy February morning. Many MacDonald men, women, and children were killed, while others fled into the harsh winter, where some perished from exposure. The massacre left a deep scar in Highland memory, symbolizing betrayal and the harshness of political conflicts in Scotland's past.

Moving right along... this place is breathtaking. It speaks in ancient whispers, of rugged grandeur, towering mountains and cascading falls. It is a must if you visit the Scottish Highlands
