I was incredibly lucky with this buzzard. As you can see it was taken with a 400mm lens and it is uncropped - so the bird was really really close to me. Amazing bird.
Took a few photos here this time round, none of em worked out how I wanted em, let me no what ya think...
The snows of January gave way to more of the same in February. The icing on the cake, so to speak, came in the form of freezing rain last week. No downed power lines, but we lost a few fairly large pine branches. Fun to fire up the chain saw when things dry out.
On a visit to South Wales in August 1988, I found this Sentinel 0-6-0 shunter at Deep Navigation Colliery dealing with coal hoppers that would depart once laoded as the 6B70 18:55 SCN [Speedlink Coal Network] service to Radyr Junction. What a pity the shunter had been defaced by the white paint markings 'CMA 4000' whatever it was meant to signify?

“In my travels I have found that those who keep Heaven in view remain serene and cheerful in the darkest day. If the glories of Heaven were more real to us, if we lived less for material things and more for things eternal and spiritual, we would be less easily disturbed by this present life.” Billy Graham.
