New Deck with White Vinyl Rails and Cedar Shingle Replacement by Patriot Construction - General Contracting.
The USS Wisconsin (BB-64). One of the last and largest battleships that the US Navy has built. It's now moored at Nauticus in Norfolk, VA as a sort of floating museum.
I dismantled the deck as far as I could without losing head alignment. Removed the capstan, reel turntables, motors, brakes, pinch roller, etc. I then tested the motors and found that the right hand reel motor was defective (more late).

so pleased that this old deck didn't have to be demolished -- it's polished up nicely! and i LOVE my new glider bench ($25 on craigslist, hooray!)
A timelapse movie of me staining the deck in the evening. A lesson I learned here is that I should not forget to disable autofocus. As the lens has a slightly different field-of-view at different focus distances (as almost all lenses have), it jumps a little around as it focuses on me. Fun nevertheless.

700 sq. ft. multi-level deck with roof structure. We installed sunlights and fans in the roof structure over the kitchen area. The kitchen area is faced with cultured stone. The seating area is flush with the top of the built in planter boxes giving a feeling of being on the ground while still being a few steps over ground level to keep an eye on guests in the pool.
3 exposure blend in p/atix - not tonemapped. This is looking over a place called Middle Harbour in Sydney- famous as a shark breeding area so no water-skiing there. For those that know the area just over the horizon is Manly Beach.
